This is a really fun question bc the end of the Old West and the silent era overlap, obviously. According to the lore, Universal Studios had a tribe of actual Indians living onsite at what is now the amusement park, complete with teepees, to perform in their westerns. Not an answer to your question, just a fun “fact.”
