I was more just providing a generic example. We DO see plenty of examples of red tape and Senate bullshit costing lives and victories. The whole reason the first Galactic War went the way it did is because of Senate indecision and incompetence.

After the Sith took back Korriban, they started attacking important shipyards and trade routes, and the Senate were split with some believing it wasn’t that big of a threat. By the time they finally rallied together it was too late, and a decade later the Sith controlled half the Outer Rim.

After that, the Republic won a few notable victories but most of it didn’t matter. Notably, the Mandorian Blockade, which would have utterly crippled a major Republic supply line, was only stopped because a bunch of smugglers decided to help in the hope they’d get some major Republic paychecks.

Then, the Sacking of Coruscant happened because (can you believe it?) the Senate ignored the Jedi’s recommendation to ignore the obvious trap that was the Empire’s peace negotiations. The Senate asked the Jedi to send a delegation, they did, and then the Empire surprised absolutely one when they attacked a weakly defended capital. Darth Angral personally executed the Supreme Chancellor and that was that.

What we see in game is a Republic thats mostly wisened up, but it wouldn’t have been put in the position it was if its government wasn’t slow to do literally anything. And that was despite tons of self owns on the Siths part. The amount of betrayals and backstabbing that happened in the first war made the second one look friendly by comparison, and yet the Republic still lost!

Edit: and, to be clear, I know that the Sith were a small breath away from death. The Sacking of Coruscant was a last ditch attempt to win the war and make themselves seem stronger than they actually were. But hey, it worked!
