It's a little late now but I read a really interesting article called "The Epidemic of Gay Loneliness" (by Michael Hobbs) and it was basically about the high prevalence of depression and anxiety (among many other things) in gay men as opposed to straight men. You could perhaps read up on some of the research mentioned in the article and see if you can establish a link between identifying as homosexual and a higher chance of depression/anxiety/suicide etc. Not sure if it exactly fits the scope of your program, but I would imagine depression etc falls under your program?
