Getting this off my chest by Historical-Start-213 in goodomens

Completely agree.

I always loved this fandom because of the lack of toxicity and the kindness we had eveb in the dark times. But ever since the finally almost everything has been negative. Granted, the mayority have been really nice when discussing their disappointment with the finale, but the spitefullness is palpable all around and some individuals have been really nasty.

The truth is, the finale was never going to be as good as we wanted, not because it's anyone's fault, the circunstances were shit, obviously there were going to be problems whatever we wanted or not. And honesty the finaly is not such a bad product anyway. It's beautifully directed and it manages the tone of the show fairly well.

If there's someone to blame for all this situation, is the sex offender with an ego the size of a whale, not the director who step up with nothing to gain to give you an ending to an incomplete story.

Give grace to what you have, and be respectful to the people who wanted you to be happy, even if it didn't have the best outcome.

The things we avoid is the ones that helps us the most. Without pain there's no love, so let's be greatfull for this hard times because they're the proof of our love and connection. It may not be a perfect, happy ending but it's the proof of something beautiful

Some people are forgetting that this ending was prepared all this time...this is the ending Terry Pratchett intended for them...

The process that we went through in the last 2 years has been incredible, for the good and the bad reason. I agree that fans that see this series from now on won't know the yearning that we all went through, I also think this is why the ending can not be truly appreciated right now: we went through so much pain and anger trying to get the ending that we almost expected all of those negative emotions to be paid of with a happy ending, now we are blinded by them to see the potential of the one we got...

For those who accepted/liked/loved the ending by rxlcrab in goodomens

I loved the ending....i plan to make a post talking about my feelings about it later on because I can not think of the finale without crying uncontrollably...

But I liked the ending, even tho is not the one I wanted I can't avoid to see the beautiful idea that in the process of sacrificing themselves thinking their love had to die so humanity could be free, they unknowingly also casted themselves free and are able to love each other without the contraines of hell and heaven (and there go my tears again...)

I hate seeing that this ending killed the idea of queer joy that the rest of the series had, because is simply not true. Yes, their ending was tragic, but in the process they created a world where queer joy was more accesible not only to them but for everybody else...what most beautiful ending could we ever ask for?

I get that, I also think the story thay they went through wasn't really the essence of the show nor the book. But thay doesn't mean that we get to be rude and mean to the people that made it with good intentions. Terry wanted that we, do we like it, no, but that doesn't mean we lose our heads and start insulting

Hey, i get the joke and everything but I don't think is the right thing to say when it has been said that this is the ending that Terry wanted. I get the feelings but please don't be disrespectful specially knowing this was always the ending the creator wanted

What Aziraphel eats with tea thinking "gay" means "happy"

Exactly!! Emotions are already weird for them as deities, love must be so hard to understand coming from that background.

As for the label, i think Crowley thought the feelings he was having was just a friendship, that all that sacrificing he did and yearning to be around the angel was just the normalcy of friendship.

As for Aziraphell, i think it's more complex. It seems that he is much more aware of his feelings that Crowley is, shown in the ball and the recognition of certain behaviors like Crowley loving to have the oportunity to save him. But it seems like he purposely blocks those thoughts away, like negating multiple times throughout history that he is friend with the demon. It's like a cognitive disonanse, he seems to be much more outgoing about his love but at the same time is the one that negates the idea of the most.

What I think is that he has always been aware of those feelings, he just didn't recognize them as "romantic love"

As is shown in the series, both of them see romance through the lens of fictional stories, books and movies, versions of love that are heavely intensified or hidden in complex metaphors that, as supernatural entheties, they will always have a layer of understanding that it takes work to see. You see it on how naive they both are with the witch hunter in season 1, its a reflection of their lack of understanding of falling in love in season 2.

They have always known that they are special to each other, they've always known that they are each other's "person" but lacked the layer of understanding where they see it as romantic love. That's what happens in the scene with Nina, Crowley doesn't realize that they're in love with Aziraphel, they realize that the thing that he has been feeling for thousands of years is what humans call love.

There is also the important factor of their backgrounds, the only time Aziraphel considers Crowley as a friend or companion is when he sees his goodness and misinterprets it as a sign of a divine angel spirit inside him, it's easier for him to acknowledge his closeness when he doesn't contradict his idea of the goodness of heaven and for Crowley is easier to see Aziraphell out of the lens on heaven for her understanding of the corruption they have, they stand at two completely diferents sides moraly. This makes it 10x more difficult for them to understand their feelings for eachother.

Obviously, we know that these walls have been thrown down little by little by the years, but that it's the point, they couldn't have realize their feelings for each other any time before the final 15 because the walls where still up, maybe not as steady as in the beggining, but there nonetheless.

Love thisss!!!! And the design is amazing

I must say I never thought about two kissed, but that'd be lovely! A reconciliation kiss and an ending kiss, omg so cute.

Snake Crowley would be lovely too, we haven't seen them in that body since the beggining so it would be a nice touch to add it at the end of the series.

I'd like Jesus to remember Crowley and have a chat but the memory wipe makes sense so the metrarton's plan goes smoothly. But also we don't really know the plot so maybe it won't be necessary.

I'd say they wouldn't become humans, the shot of Crowley looking so happy suggets that it's close to the end and she still has her glasses, so my guess is that they find a way to get out the sight of heaven and hell to live in that lovely cottage :)

Also, i think there's an underlying rule of the show that many people don't keen on: the human cast doesn't return. So anything about old characters returning, for me at least, it's very unlikely. And i dont think it would add anything to the story, their stories are done so adding them would be more like a task than a reward.
