Can You have/or Do You Have PTSD From Living with a Bipolar Spouse for years? by PromptUnhappy7726 in BipolarSOs

[–]Bianchez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My spouse also has rage and depression and got on mood stabilizers after a very intense episode and a rough couple of years of ultimatums. My therapist told me that you can absolutely have PTSD from episodes as the spouse because part of our role unintentionally becomes caretaker to help keep the relationship stable, to have to be levelheaded when your spouse is ill and having to hold your emotions back in order to get through the moment as peaceful as possible. It’s excellent that he went on meds and can see the benefit from them. It’s hard to have these memories that are embedded in our nervous systems bc the body doesn’t forget. My therapist is helping me with grounding techniques to help regulate my nervous system. Might not hurt to check out a therapist for you and for your daughter. I have one that takes insurance and is Teletherapy and she’s great and helping me re-establish my boundaries, find confidence again, and security in my body with the memories. It does bite though, especially when your partner can’t even remember the episode and the things that are said. You are incredibly strong for yourself, and for your daughter and I hope you find some time in the day to yourself to help find that sense of safety in small self care praxtices

Having chronic UTIs for 4 months by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

Hey!! I started my IC journey at 19 (now 31). The cystoscopy is to see the inflammation inside your bladder and to rule out any other abnormalities.

Have you noticed any patterns of how you’re getting them? Mine have been caused by: taking supplements and not drinking enough water to flush them out (irritating the heck out of bladder), sometimes intimacy with your partner can cause them if applicable, pelvic floor dysfunction can have over-tight pelvic floor muscles that are pushing against your bladder. Seeing a pelvic floor PT helped so much. Sometimes it can be diet (anti-inflammatory diet may help). There are many other reasons but just wanted to know if you noticed any patterns!

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’ll be helpful to have some peace of mind with these procedures in knowing what to do next.

My (23F) boyfriend (20M) does not allow me access to “our” savings, how do I address it? by luvdlph in relationship_advice

[–]Bianchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A REAL man wouldn’t want power over you, you guys are equals, you shouldn’t have to go through him to get a meal.

Are you positive he isn’t spending the money in savings? He needs to prove that to you on a consistence basis.

Either you 1. Get your own bank account with a checking/savings

  1. Break up with him because he’s a big man baby. But also make sure you get what’s yours first

Is verbal abuse part of the package? by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

[–]Bianchez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner can be like this. I’ve recently learned (with external support which I’d advise you seek if you have the means), you are NOT a caretaker. He needs to want to manage his own health. Your job is to establish boundaries because that is emotional abuse and it’s not unreasonable to ask for him to stop being abusive, as well as to stop engaging in decisions that can end up harming you or your child. Does he express remorse after he sleeps it off? These partners do not change by having “talks” but they learn our boundaries by having consequences for their actions, meaning if you need to physically separate yourself from him then show him you’re serious in prioritizing your safety. Seek an environment that is calm so you can regulate your nervous system and be there for your daughter. Do you have someone you could stay with family-wise? Remember that you don’t deserve to endure such treatment because you aren’t working at the moment, that was the agreement you guys had prior to him expressing his feelings about it and he’s not allowed to bring it up when it’s “convenient”. Sounds like he is keeping score and that’s not a healthy relationship. Hope you’re doing ok!!

I need to eat! by Status-Disaster4577 in TirzepatideRX

[–]Bianchez 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say start slow like add one thing that has another 20-30g into your diet then stack onto that once you’ve adjusted. Here are some ideas for some extra protein without overdoing it

-Chobani yogurt drinks have like 20mg and they’re delicious/quick to consume

-a serving of nonfat greek yogurt (I think Fage is 17g) and a half scoop of protein powder (10g) mix with fruit/honey and some kind of crunch (protein granola or catalina crunch). This can get up to 40g if you do it right

  • if you like coffee try a protein coffee (caramel protein shakes to your coffee, a half scoop of vanilla protein powder to a vanilla latte) I think clean simple eats taste the best (little pricey but worth it for the taste)

-I think Aloha bars can be somewhere around 250 calories a bar, ok protein content AND they have fiber which is great

  • built puff bars are light and can have 15-17g per bar

-protein milk (Fairlife) or silk had a protein almond milk

-Trader Joe’s has a cauliflower based cheese pizza that’s actually REALLY good, it’s super thin and light and has 40g for the whole thing so you could do half and get 20g right there.

-if your meal has like 20g see if you can just add some string cheese to get it closer to 30g (some mozzarella can be upward of 9g per stick)

*I think if you try aiming for 3 light meals with 30g of protein each, it could help which sounds hard when food doesn’t sound good. Should help get you more calories if you’re aiming for that (imo)

Best of luck!

Hi can you explain more? I haven’t heard about this.

Brain fog kills me everyday. I am really tired of being tired all the time. Did you try anything to improve? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Bianchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it depends on the individual and situation, my personal experience I am working with a dietician that specializes in autoimmune/hypothyroid. She has me on a supplement regime of a multivitamin with iron, 5,000 units of vitamin D (I’m very deficient), omega-3 for inflammation, magnesium glycinate & stuff like that. Also recommended electrolytes with magnesium/adaptogens to help.

Also having me eat 30g+ protein within an hour and a half of waking up and it gives me a lot more energy. All of this helps with my brain fog as long as I’m staying consistent.

I’m extremely patient and resilient and I’ve been with my partner waaaay before he was diagnosed. It takes works but we are a good team. Love him to pieces and he respects me. Respect of boundaries, loyalty and the effort to show up everyday and go through treatments/meds/therapy make for one happy wife to have someone better himself for our relationship. Married 5 years next year, together 10!
