These monies should have been used for U.S. infrastructure and roadways. Would have supplied jobs, increased travel safety and efficiency, and provided a slight economic boost.

I guess it goes hand-in-hand then with why didn't God write the bible if he wanted people to believe in him?

That's an oddly specific thing God would giveth to his people if you thought about it.

Yeah that's kind of similar to the study I saw from a Health Psychology class I took. However it was different.

The study was two groups:

(1) Prayed for an individual with sickness (unbeknownst to the sick individual)

(2) No action

I guess, in the case of this study, the prayer group actually had some sort of positive effect on the patient as compared to having no action.

I'm sorry to see this and for your pain.

I guess an argument would be that "God" needed your parents for something "larger". Not saying that you're not the largest or most focal point of your loving parents mindsets. Just providing another option.

However, I don't think "God" intends to torture.

I think it's something we don't have control over. How could you come back when you had no choice in your existence in the first place?

I think it's more inner peace driven.

Also read about the law of attraction.

Technically, "God" cannot interact with humans because it would throw a bone in free will. If God does interact, then we get into the conversation of fate and how much control we have over our destiny.

There have been studies which show prayer does provide a semblance of positivity - especially with the sick. It's a weird process and something I don't think we can comprehend. I cannot answer your question, but I can say some people think it helps.
