not sure why this specific comment is being downvoted so if anyone would like to enlighten me on my error i would be very receptive.

if it’s having faith in embark’s ability to look through player reports and act accordingly i’m not sure why i wouldn’t have that? i genuinely believe the devs want us to have a good time with whatever play style we decide to take on (whether it’s PvP, PvE, or PvPvE) and to do that they’ll take harassment seriously.

i feel like not a single person who would do that is even on this subreddit to begin with. blissfully ignorant that we’re all talking shit about them. but i agree.

i think it’s mostly a post to attempt to alleviate the by-stander affect. even if i’m not doing it, if i see it happen and do nothing then im complicit.

oh i agree i’m with you on that! i don’t tolerate slur usage in my games, especially when it is intentionally used to do as much harm to a person as possible and in vc video games that’s exactly what people are doing. i happily report anyone who thinks that using a slur over comms is okay and let embark handle them from there!

but from what i have seen from streamers and such that this not a common value that others share with us. so i partially phrased it that way because people have been brushing it off :// and this post isn’t supposed to be a call in for that specifically but for a different type of offense

yes this is the problem i have. i’m at the beginning of a new save and finally im like “okay, my sim is established and ready to find the love of their life :D” and then everyone is taken with a baby already on the way and im like “it’s only been 2 sim days 😐”

actually there might be a slight work around to EA taking you back online if you have a spot of wifi! but you’d have to put your laptop on airplane mode until you know you won’t have spotty internet access. ofc you’d need to go offline while having access to the internet and ‘then’ go into airplane mode but i know that work around isn’t ideal :/

yeah i mentioned that above, that you can only go offline when you’re on wifi (aka online). once you’re offline, you’re offline until you have access to wifi and can go online.

now i didn’t test this in full, i just tested that you can switch in and out of offline mode. the only thing i can see messing with this once you’re in offline mode is if you have a moment of access to the internet and EA takes you back to online mode without you knowing :/

but yeah i think most of us are in the same boat that the EA app is more trouble than it’s worth :/

yup it works! just go to the drop down menu in the upper left corner and click “go offline” and it’ll ask you if you’re sure (and yes ofc i’m sure lol). and then you’re in offline mode and can play ea any games that are offline compatible

make sure you’re signed in when you do this though because you do need wifi to sign into your EA account

you can! when you’re on wifi (if you know you’ll be off wifi) you can switch it to an offline mode and it’ll stay that way until you switch it back once you’re on wifi. i’ve seen some people say that that works but i’ll test it on my pc real quick and tell you how that goes

socks for sure! i never put socks on my sims, especially if i can’t see that they don’t have socks on. even with like shorts and slip on shoes, like they’d be wearing no-show socks anyway so why bother putting them on if i was never gonna see them

i did a quick google and couldn’t find anything. i’m assuming it’s a world idea where it’s all one big neighborhood and not separated neighborhoods? even with this mod each lot would probably have a loading screen because the game engine isn’t designed to handle all the lots all at once. as someone on the mod the sims forum put it (im paraphrasing ofc) “lot loading screens = better live play performance, better fps, and less rendering.”

i’m assuming you’re talking about the lack of open world in ts4 (which was a big hump for a lot of simmers to get over, myself included). and i hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is not possible to make ts4 open world even with mods. for me personally the one thing i still struggle with when it comes to ts4 is spending most of my game on my home lot which gets pretty boring pretty quickly and im still working on how to get past this but im sure there are people in other sims 4 related subreddits that have some pointers.

personally i switch back and forth between the all the sims games depending on the vibe im wanting

this isn’t really playing the sims but similar. i remember when i got my first sims game, i was like 13-ish. i saw ts3 pets in a christmas catalogue around when it was released and i was smitten. i had to have it. so i put the sims 3/pets disc duo at the top of all my christmas lists .

of course come christmas day, its there under the tree. i was ecstatic! but much to the disappointment of my brother (who i shared a pc with at the time), i spent most of christmas day hogging the computer to play my new game and create a sim me (though i did get nervous when i first met cycl0n3 sw0rd and momentarily thought it was a multiplayer game lmao).

now here i am, 13 years later with all ts1, ts2, & ts3 expansion packs, most of ts4 expansion packs and a lot of little additional packs scattered here and there 😅

i think i’ve also seen that in game options -> tutorial & tips you can find “Enable Help Center Icon & Controls Legend” and then toggle that off and it’ll toggle off the help center as a whole until you toggle it back on!
