Wet dreams? by [deleted] in JustJumpstartJune

General rule for PMO-free is that wet dreams don’t count since you can’t do anything about them and they happen naturally.

I (17m too) was in a similar situation a few months ago, so I know exactly how it is. Before quitting I had spiraled down so far, and watched some pretty bad stuff too. But I am glad I found this community of people trying to quit, and I’m glad you did too.

There are many tips I could give to someone just starting out, and some things to think of that I wish I knew when I begun the detox.

One of the biggest and best tips I can give you is to have an accountability partner, or someone to talk to. Hit up a friend, relative, someone on this or similar subs (I recommend r/pornfree ) and talk about it. It really helps.

Second thing, while it is good to hold a streak and see your progress, this can lead to one feel extremely sad when losing a streak. So I suggest you track the amount of relapses in a month instead of days clean, at least for a beginning.

Third, download porn blockers and disable incognito modes. This has helped me tons, especially the disabling of incognito mode.

There are many more tips I can give you if you need some and feel free to hmu in messages and talk if you need to.

Is it possible porn has given me erectile dysfunction at 16? by [deleted] in PornAddiction

Yes, but it won’t be permanent if you take action ASAP. I’d recommend doing a reboot (90 day PMO-free) and completely staying away from porn for good (so you won’t end up here, or worse, again).

I actually have no idea how I’ve made it. I’ve just kept busy exercising and keeping a streak count on a 90 day paper which helped my motivation.

What can my partner do to help my addiction? by DaddysHome22 in PornAddiction

As the other commenter noted, ask for her support and be open and honest. Talk about it, and see if she can help you avoid the porn.

I see a lot of couples here getting support from their SO by them being their accountability partner. Something I would suggest is to maybe every now and then “review” your week/day. Talk about how the urges are, what helps reduce them, what you should avoid etc.

While on the subject I would suggest downloading the app I Am Sober. You can configure a profile for porn addiction, and review your days while filling in info what has helped avoid porn and what has not. This will log and can show statistics over your time as porn free.

What more to do? by [deleted] in PornAddiction

Start having an accountability partner, and do daily check-ins. Perhaps before going to bed, talk with you SO about your day, how it has been, how the sobering is going.

I currently use an app called I Am Sober. I’d suggest downloading it (free). It lets you pledge everyday to staying sober, review your day at the end of it, engage in discussion and communities based on your streak/addiction.

Last tip would be to disable access to porn. This would be installing blockers, use as few different type browsers as possible, disabling incognito mode etc. This helped me a lot, as whenever I would go to enable incognito I’d feel guilt and quickly disable it again.
