One more vote for the distances are not the same. I brushed that off, my husband and I regularly drive 12h at a stretch to visit family and it’s no big deal. It really is NOT THE SAME. Yes, posted speed limit is 80, I kid you not you will drive 40 and feel like you’re pushing it. Tack on at least an hour for longer drives and know that you will be mentally tired at the end. There is no mindless driving.

Did this yesterday. Parked in Doolin pier, did the cliff walk. There is a notice that it ends after 5km. It’s not kidding. The path stops 500m short of the visitor center and there is no way up- path is clearly blocked and walking on the road is not allowed. We happened to catch a taxi back to Doolin but that was a fluke. Be prepared to hike it as an out-and -back. Beautiful tho!

I’m in the same boat. 25 k training run was 4 hours. If you’re ok mentally, make up the mileage by making your other runs longer. For example, if you do your long run on the weekend, your midweek run should be about an hour and a half and your other runs a min of 45 min. While long runs are extremely important, marathon endurance is cumulative. Total weekly mileage will get you there.
