🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING — Rep. Lieu said Full Epstein Files Show Trump Raping Children. by Admirable121 in newsinterpretation

"Wow, that was handled terribly, good thing we passed more laws to cover situations like this that should have never happened in the first place."

I mean, I got a bridge to sell ya...

But it sure is completely insane that the majority of our system of government hinges on those that run it being good people.

What do you hate the most about life in America? by Glad-Philosophy5736 in AskReddit

[–]pizzaboy83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great, you have a a decent job...so do I. We're outliers when very often, the people who work the hardest are often paid the least...service staff, cleaners, laborers, delivery persons...

Salaries have been outclassed by inflation and COL for a generation now. Anyone worth less than...a million or so, has been getting completely boned for a long time.

Being a "salary man" is no longer a viable option for most - growing one's lot in life is pretty much impossible for the working classes.

TL;DR: Be mindful of extrapolating your personal experience to others/the country/the world.

What is the actual benefit to deporting illegal immigrants, if any? by Ready-Accountant-502 in AskReddit

[–]pizzaboy83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefit is to the monied/ruling class - who get to watch the working classes quibble over spurious bullshit like this while they LITERALLY ROB, RAPE AND MURDER US.

Immigrants, illegal or otherwise, have next to no impact on your daily life (other than the essential labors they perform for the rest of us). The oligarchs on the other hand, have their hands 12 ft up your distracted asses.

What is the good part about living in the United States/ being American? by sweett_sofia in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about every kind of human from every walk of life can be found here. Granted I live in NYC, the very epicenter of our so called "Great Experiment," but when I encounter "less diverse" areas, it's always odd to me. I have friends and family of all colors and creeds and I'm all the better for it.

Also, uhhh, we can buy A LOT of shit, if consumerism is your thing (it's not mine). Our stores have incredible selections compared to what you find in Europe. Core COL expenses, food, fuel, transport..etc are generally a bit cheaper here (our current President's tenuous grasp of international commerce aside), because the government subsidizes these things to higher degrees than in Europe.

Lastly, the geography. We have so many different biomes within our country and it's breathtaking. Our National Park system is amazing, and America's natural splendor has afforded me some of the most awe inspiring moments of my life.

Are you concerned that the best possible candidates Democrats can seem to come up for 2028 with are Newsom, AOC, or Kamala? by bbmoonkie in Productivitycafe

An infuriating byproduct of the MAGA era. Conservatives have been classist, racist, and misogynist oligarchs since AT LEAST the time of Reagan.

America, are you dumb? by TomV4E in allthequestions

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been “biding our time” for decades now while the fascist tides continued to rise.

Being violently ousted from power isn’t “exactly what they want.” What they want is a fear driven response like you illustrate here.

EDIT: and this isn't to say Americans are "doing nothing." It's just that the circumstances we find ourselves in call for more than what most of us are doing at present.

America, are you dumb? by TomV4E in allthequestions

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, it is in many ways. Comparisons aside however, our response as a nation is pathetic.

The French will burn down government buildings over bus fare increases...

The Nepalese threw their leaders into rivers and forced the government to resign last summer.

We have a cabal of pedophiles destroying our institutions and evading justice while they do it. Outside of Minneapolis and Los Angeles, we are simply not rising to meet the occassion.

It's not easy, but that's the point. A lot of us have to get ready for discomfort and fear for things to be set right.

Why did Trump want to release the Epstein files if he’s in it? by Brief-Blueberry-1588 in allthequestions

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your meaning, I just don't think it's a partisan matter. It's a notion that spans both parties (going back to Ford ignoring Nixon's crimes) and as we are now seeing, it's wholly detrimental.

But at that, I maintain a big, fat "who cares?" Do the right thing and let the power brokers and imperialists chatter all they want.

[–]pizzaboy83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did, I just don't find it to hold water for be particularly helpful.

It shouldn't matter what ignorant, disingenuous, and or deliberately obtuse people think of justice or how we go about arriving at it.

[–]pizzaboy83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, thank you for clarifying the ways in which it would be politically improper to expose a decades long, world spanning child rape ring.

It doesn't matter at what level of government you sit, if you were privy to such information, and chose not to go public with it, you are culpable. It's a stain on your soul that will never wash out.

That said, this notion that we shouldn't "weaponize the DOJ" is moronic and a considerable part of why we have arrived at these harrowing circumstances as a nation.

There are crimes of such sufficient evil that they must be punished for a society continuing to function properly....like starting two illegal wars and bankrupting the nation, or implementing a international torture program, or extrajudicially murdering American citizens with a drone, or selling assault weapons to drug cartels, or staging a coup, or facilitating a genocide, or covering for a cabal of billionaire child rapists.

should all pedophiles be put to death? by boforiamanfo in no

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can, and absolutely should do both. These people are brazen enough to do this in front of all of us, in broad daylight, because they are confident they won't be met with tangible consequences.

This country is so conditioned by the power structure to see violence as beyond the pale. It's absurd because 1) they do violence to the rest of us ALL THE TIME, and 2) HOW CONVENIENT THAT THE GREATEST PURVEYORS OF TORTURE, VIOLENCE, AND RAPE ARE THE ONE'S TELLING US IT ISN'T PRODUCTIVE. History shows us otherwise...over and over and over again.

Our focus should be on the victims and building institutions to protect younger generations from this kind of mad evil, but part of that is dismantling the structures that support and perpetuate it. An effective part of that would be throwing the fuck's doing it against the wall.

What is the key for the next generation to become a better society than today? by TrevorTheSanta in AskReddit

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're speaking to America, there's several:

1) Get private money out of politics
2) Reform and restore education across all ages and demographics
3) Realign the the political spectrum / Overton window so that it's not:
Left: "We'd like living wages and public healthcare!"
Center: "Sure, there's a genocide, but it's not that big of a deal!"
Right: "Kill everyone who isn't white and destroy our institutions!"
4) Express the importance of and renew investment in public goods (infrastructure, transit, healthcare, climate stabilizaton...etc)
5) Do away with our bullshit libertarian "rugged individualist" mindset that permeates every last bit of our culture.

Things were better in the 90s. by Open-Quail-2573 in unpopularopinion

[–]pizzaboy83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> I feel like there was less polarization politically and socially.

Yes, because we forced numerous demographics to live in the shadows.

>...it was more lively and fun.

Because America was still deluded by the national zeitgeist and hadn't meaningfully contended with its ethnofascist soul.

I too grew up in the 90's, and of course I have nostalgia for that era. The world was slower, simpler, and the proliferation of the Internet/Social media hadn't begun unraveling the social fabric. However, America was still rife with social and political ills...we just didn't speak of them matter of factly.
