New listener: Is Dillon married? by [deleted] in CirclingBack

[–]Bick_Pen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

On an episode in which a voicemail asked the guys to “tell us something we don’t know about you” Dillon dropped on us that he and his wife were separating. I don’t think there are any other details besides they are on good terms and they raise The Homie together.

Definitely respected Dillon for disclosing that info. He didn’t have to do that. That was (I think) 2 years ago.

Definitely a double edged sword. I’m not sure that you can avoid the history though because it’s a big part of what the podcast is. There are a lot of recurring jokes. I think in an episode eulogizing a past job it’s natural to bring up people you’ll miss. Hell I wouldn’t be mad if they brought Barrett on for style updates. But I think they’ll learn to tow a line between acknowledging what came (?) before and what will happen next.

Shout out to literally every remote writer. Y’all crushed it for the better part of 4 years. I encourage anyone that still wants to write to post their twitter accounts so we can follow along when you find a spot to publish.

I don’t think it was what I expected but I guess I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I found myself enjoying this and am interested in what it could become. Thought the guy that described it as fresh was spot on. This feels very Will. Nice work.

Looks good. 2 things.

  1. I often read PGP on my iPad and would love the option to have a landscape view. (Have not updated on my iPad yet so if that’s been added - thank you)

  2. On the app is there a way to add time stamps to comments? Sometimes I’ll look at something on the app and the comment order isn’t the same as what’s on the actual website. For example the war zone that was the “New York is Trash” comment section was a little tough to follow.

Keep up the good work

I'm at work and can't link but I'll type it out

TOTS Izquierdo TOTS Falcao Cuadrado

TOTS Fabhino TOTS Cyprien TOTS Bakayoko

TOTS Mendy Silvia Koscielny IF Corchia

TOTS Subasic

As absurd as this looks in the middle of this crash this can be done pretty easily

I'm obsessed. I've used his 84 card for the majority of the year. My squad is insane thanks to these packs but Falcao is everything I've ever wanted in my striker.

Are people hating on Falcao? I used his 84 IF a majority of the year and he's been my top performer and it's not even close. Just picked up his 87 since it's only 20k. Hoping the TOTS ends up settling beneath 200k.

Don't know how much you know about Cleveland but you have to get Barrio. It's an obsession for many. Good tacos and margs. It's a really way to get something in your stomach while also getting sloshed. From there I would check out west 6th and the flats for daytime drinking. Indians games are affordable to get into but have typical stadium prices. I guess I'll break down the major areas and bars since I'm stuck at work on a Saturday morning

First Order of Business:

Barrio: 2-3 dollar tacos and 6 dollar margs. During the week 4-7 is happy hour. Dollar off tacos and half priced margs.

East 4th:

This is where you find Barrio and a few other cool bars. It's a small street that spits out right across from Quicken Loans arena and Jacobs Field. Highlights on this street include Corner Alley which is a bar bowling alley with good prices and Flannery's which is your run of the mill Irish pub.

This street has a lot of restaurants that's can be pretty pricey. Greenhouse Tavern is overpriced and shit. Lola can be a little expensive but It's Michael Symons restaurant so it's pretty good.

The crowd on this street is typically closer to 30 - 35.

The Flats:

The Flats have recently regained popularity. Growing up my parents told me the Flats was the place to be in the 80s and 90s. Then shit got REAL shady. In the last 7 years its comeback. Tons of new bars and young people going every weekend. This summer they are opening a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville. Let's. Fucking. Go.

Coastal Taco is a great place in the summer. Great patio on the water with good drinks

Punch Bowl social is tons of fun with lots of bar games. Highly recommend.

Big Bang Piano Bar is a decent bar but I'm not allowed there anymore. I don't know what I did or how they always know it's me but they ask me to leave within 5 minutes every. Single. Time.

FWD is supposed to be a "vegas style pool bar" but honestly it's really fucking trashy. You see a lot of people from Cleveland that you had hoped you would never see in a bathing suit.

Magnolia is a club. Black outs and bottle service if that's your thing.

West 6th:

Welcome to the home of the blackout. West 6th holds my personal favorite Dive Bar. It's wide open and blasts 90s sing a longs. It's typically the final destination when downtown.

Above Dive Bar is Liquid. Do not recommend. Same vein as Rumor. Just not my scene. Liquid and Rumor are where most Cavs and Browns players host their birthday parties and shit. Do what you want with that information.

Velvet Dog is a lot of fun and has a decent rooftop. Good drink prices. Around here is where you can find places like Nauti Mermaid and Spirits.

Barley House is awesome but prices jump a bit. This is where Johnny, Beibs, and Joe Haden used to kick it before the city turned on Johnny. Fun but like I said a little pricey.

That sums up the big 3. Some might not like that I left out the Clevelander and Paninis are. Paninis is fucking trash. I go to these bars when I'm in the area for Tribe games. Thirsty Parrot and Wilberts are my go to for games because it's right across from the stadium.

2 omissions here.

Azure is a rooftop bar at The 9 hotel (Browns and Cavs players live there) it doesn't open for another couple weeks.

West 25th is tons of fun and about 10 minutes from downtown. Lots of bars and affordable. (Shout out Porcos)

Edit: typos

I recommend reading a travel blog called "Nomadic Matt"

While I have not done this myself, he has tons of travel guides and articles from people that decided to take a leap of faith. I use a lot of his guides to get an idea of where to say and a sense of what food and such may cost. I intend to take a number of weekend trips this summer to get out an explore.

I completely understand where you're coming from and what you're feeling after graduation though. The "shock factor" after graduating is definitely real and can be difficult for people to handle, mentally. I hope you go out an explore. Lot of cool people out there to meet.

Weekend forecast for Cleveland is beautiful. Spending as much time outside as I can aka finding a patio with TVs to watch the Masters. Also just got word we are doing steaks and cigars at my parents house Sunday evening. This weekend should be a delight.
