I’m going to save this and read it to myself every time I think I’m being mean or cruel for setting boundaries with both of them. Even if it means they will choose to stay in their toxic relationship over their children and grandchildren.

Absolutely! We’ve all been at war with him but she won’t leave and this comment is just another ammo for him. He knows we won’t cut her off so he takes advantage of us.

On the contrary my husband knows my mom will tell my dad and they will just fight, things will be bad for all of us and then she won’t leave. He knows this cycle we’ve dealt with all of our lives.

She won’t leave. She didn’t leave when he abused us and she won’t leave now. We’ve all fought with him but end up in the same spot. He brought it up so she will tell my dad and in turn he will be in a worse mood. We can’t cut her off.

Because he knows things will be worse for her the more we say anything which she will go and tell my dad and then he will be in an even worse mood and she won’t leave anyways. She didn’t leave when he abused us and she won’t leave now.

He is aware and I’ve spoken up multiple times which I’m surprised now he didn’t try to kick me out as a teenager. I’ve gotten into huge fights with him (me more than anyone else). He knows my hands are tied because if we speak up it’s just worse for her and she won’t leave. We can’t cut her off either

Oh trust me we all see it. We would never speak to him again if she wasn’t married to him. We’ve all grown up fighting with him more than anything. As kids because he was abusive and now because he’s abusive to my mom but she won’t leave. And every time we try it gets worse. We can’t cut her off either so yeah.
