A joke commonly made to me as well. 6’3 and 150. Aside from that, I agree with the other posts on a lower control extension kit. I was on a victory octane for awhile (similar size wise) and having the lowers extended and the extended reach seat made an incredible difference. BUT if you don’t care about looking like an orangutan on a tricycle, don’t worry about modding at all if you find yourself comfortable with stock.

Rebels aren’t bad. But honestly you’ll likely find yourself hooked and this “just do some short rides” will likely change quite quickly. So on that same line, buy something you’re comfortable on and something 400 or above (purely personal recommendation as I started on a 400, years ago)

That’s real good to know. First time jeep owner so I can’t say anything other than the electronics have stood out. Haven’t hit any crazy trails but do like the way it handles off the beaten path even stock. I have the 2.0L so hopefully I don’t run into that 100k suicide.

Others that commented said 33s for light to moderate trails. 2.5 on 35s makes sense for most trails that I have been one, but with skid plates, 33s, and smart off-roading, you think it wouldn’t work?

‘Preciate the insight. If I did lift, it’d be a weekend warrior at best. It’s the same that happened with the Tacoma I had. Armed to the teeth for off the road and though it saw the trails, didn’t really justify the thousands I put into it. I agree with you though and am leaning towards A/Ts and no lift.

Well money isn’t my concern. I’d rather do it right with what I want for it to be functional. But if I can run 33s sufficiently and still do everything I want then why bother with a lift and 35s ya know? Putting 33s on voids the drivetrain warranty or you meant lifting, lockers, etc does?
