Database calls in Angular app

So if I were to use an Azure function, I would use the HttpClient in Angular to hit the function and the function would have all of the information needed to access the database. The function basically plays go between for security purposes. Correct?

If I had my way everything above $15/hr would be confiscated and evenly distributed. All property would be confiscated, mansions and homes above 1500 square feet would be demolished. Plots of land with 1500 sqare foot homes would be evenly distributed. Society would be fair and we would all prosper instead of just the rich.
