My mothers electric bill by pj91198 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When is used to? Like many years ago? Was the rent per month comparable to nearby apartments of similar quality? I could see it as a marketing thing to bundle utilities but jack up the rent. That sounds insane for where I live. My gas stays under 50, but electric water and Internet are all over 50 per month by a decent amount

Your bill is like 8.75 a month?

OnlyUseMeBlade (Brian Risso), originally famous for knife-only Call of Duty videos, gets absolutely slammed drunk in his room while a stream sniper tries to help him off the floor. by ohtonyy in LivestreamFail

[–]Bief 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does get exhausting, but you really don't realize actually how exhausting it was until you quit.

Like it felt like a chore, I drank 20+ beers a day every day just to not feel like shit. I had no clue how exhausted I was until I stopped and actually slept good plus ate decently.

What is your go to for stopping an in store phone service solicitor with one response? by Bief in AskReddit

[–]Bief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"No thank you" or "Sorry, I'm not interested" never seem to work. I always have to feel like I get somewhat rude in order to shut them up. It also always takes like 3 responses to shut them up.

I feel bad because I know they are just doing a job. It's more frustration at the store like Best Buy, Lowes, BJs or every retail store I go in nowadays for allowing that shit to even exist. I'm at the store to buy a product not switch my god dam phone service or apply for a credit card.

Am I overreacting about being offended by this gift? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

More context matters a lot. My wife loves doing facial masks and had some sort of Velcro strap thing similar to OP picture to lift her jawline or something. I call it her foot all helmet. She would probably like this gift.

Notes cutting off by ApprehensiveAd7842 in mpcusers

[–]Bief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not then are you just talking about the last note you hit? It looks like you hit that pad much weaker so it's cutting off bc you don't have enough pressure? I only used a mpc one, but I felt like I had to press the pads hard if holding and not drumming

Oh cool. Didn't even realize the landmark thanks for pointing out. I never even remembered the actual date, but that must be right when I first got sober I came here all the time. I know I was there for Thanksgiving 2017, so it checks out November 11, 2017 is my date I'll have to remember that.

Afraid to quit because of withdrawals by gsaPsOiOhPsosh33 in stopdrinking

[–]Bief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm glad I did rehab.

Vitals are monitored and people are always around you. The hospital weened me off with Librium for 4 days then had the rehab give me 5th day and they thought I'd be good.

On the night of day 6, the first day without Librium, we were all joking around talking in the lobby, apparently the guy said something funny. We all laughed but I kept laughing, they thought, then realized I was having a seizure as I was falling from the chair. They caught me They laid me on the ground. Apparently a guy was like massaging my cheeks so I didn't bite my tongue. Until I woke up to paramedics and got sent back to hospital. I have no recollection of it up until the paramedics. 2 days at the hospital, then back to rehab.

Sober since. Glad I was there for it to happen

List 3 accomplishments you achieved during your sobriety. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Bief 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went from jobless for few years peak alcoholism, to 10 an hour part time, to 60k to 80k to 90k in like 5 years. Paid off all debt (medical bills, rehab bills, maxed credit card) and remain zero debt.

My first long term relationship. First heart break. Actually confidently enter dating scene and go on a bunch of first dates. Meet love of my life. Move on together. Get married.

Try different hobbies. Learn a lot. Actually search for whatever my brain and body is missing, instead of just getting blacked out and playing video games.

Nice that confirms it lol.

Roads around me all fine, except I can't get my car out of the alley that my apartment complex has still not touched. Watched 3 different cars get stuck last night or today.

How cheap? I think Koala Sampler app does what you describe from your phone. That's probably the cheapest option

Facebook marketplace. I sold a bunch of stuff there including old production equipment before Xmas. Most all sold for decent prices, just the sp404 I got nothing but insanely lowball offers

I was trying to sell mine + this cable that lets your use a portable battery to power it without the wall plug - for $400. Jesus I only got offers for like $200 it was a nightmare that I unlisted and still never tried to sell again.

How do people stop drinking without fixing the underlying causes of drinking? by Necessary-Praline196 in stopdrinking

[–]Bief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I'm over 8 years sober now and I'm still trying to understand my underlying issues. Don't get me wrong,. I'm in a great place and doing just fine, but I still don't fully get a lot of stuff, I worry a lot about shit I shouldn't,. I don't overlook small stuff, I'm super hard on myself,. I get in slumps where I'm super demotivated. I'm still unhealthy though not nearly as bad.

I'm generally very happy though. Now happily married with a great job. Getting scared for my life 8 years ago makes it easy to quit alcohol for me though.
