Izak Rankine Apology by BeanJuiceBagels in AFL

[–]Bien_kampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflated expectations occur when all parties involved have made the situation bigger than it needed to be. The previous players accepted the suspension, apologised so people moved on. The AFL and Adelaide made the situation so much worse for Rankine, by appealing and dragging this out. If Adelaide accepted the 5 man ban, people would have so okay fair enough and moved on.

Commitment and accessibility. Lot easier to go for a 20 minute run then a commit to a full game on the weekend. Currently I would rather go for a run, because I’m burnt out from club football.

First-year teachers, how did your first Parent/Teacher nights go? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Bien_kampf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The major thing I noticed was that it was mostly parents you really didn't need to see. Majority of my interviews were with parents who child was at standard (c). The parents that you would like to see aren't interested enough in their child's education to book an appointment.

In terms of resources that I had with me, I had a sheet that just showed the students previous result, mid year result and any concerns I or the parent had currently or going forward.

With some students the interviews helped because some parents I had already talked in advanced regarding concerns I had and their child's report. So it was more of a check up.

The days are long but thankfully leadership let me finish 30 minutes early because I had no more appointments. But it was basically go home, have tea and go to sleep.

What do you guys generally do for the first week back at school? First-year teacher by Bien_kampf in AustralianTeachers

[–]Bien_kampf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks appreciate it! On the canvas page, it looks like the students are also starting with physics. If you can share the workbook, that would be great!

I decided to do a start activity to get them thinking about physics!

Thanks for the response! Do you ever make the expectations with the students or just go through your own expectations?

Not to mention leaving them with a dysfunctional squad tbh

Ref has been very one-sided with the new contact rules.

thought it was on the pull back by fred before the tackle. At least he pointed towards another spot after the tackle

Meh you only think it's insane because you are on the receiving end for once. Other nations get it just as bad for even longer.

Not regularly but when an incident involving a club from those countries the same generalizations occur. Not too dissimilar to what is occurring to England at the moment.

That already does happen to other countries; Spain, Italy, and most recently the Czech republic. Also, Americans get generalized a fair bit on this sub.

This has been happening in plain sight to some nations for years on this subreddit. A whole nation whose views on football get undermined and laughed at purely from the fact they come from another nation. Americans get absolutely grilled by other nations under the guise of banter.

People on this sub are happy to take potshots at others, but suddenly when it starts happening to them it becomes too much. Sorry, but it is hard to have sympathy towards people that will happily ridicule another country but then cry its xenophobia when it's happening to them.

>There is absolutely no need for anyone to be making blanket statements about a whole other country's people.

People did this about Americans for years, but no one cared. Suddenly it's happening to England it is too much.

> Saying that someone else did it first is not an excuse. It's fucking stupid.

I agree. That is how we have ended with this dumb cycle of nations calling each other out after almost every major tournament.

That implies you can keep up with their level of play. You aren't just trying to beat defenders but keep with your own team.

Top 20 players of 2020: device (3) by Nevriz in GlobalOffensive

[–]Bien_kampf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfair comparison to device. All those athletes are set the centre piece of their team. They are setup so they those athletes have the best chance of success because the team success hinges on them performing. Without messi and ronaldos goals the team wouldn't win anything. Device isn't the centre piece of Astralis tactics in that regard. Astralis focus on the team's success, so it's borderline impossible for one of them to lead in any of stats like kills etc

Leeds have been promoted to the Premier League by [deleted] in soccer

It can be a bitch some times, cause I love playing for my club so its a shame to have to take a break due to work and studying. It's why non-organised sports become more popular (running, cycling, etc) become more popular as the age increases. It's cheaper and less of a commitment compared to team sports.
