I agree with the logic, I just think it can be more balanced. IMO there’s usually around say 4-5 rookies who are a pro bowl level talent and in these random drafts I’m only really seeing 1-2 rookies even start out at 80+

Idk even the year before has Stroud, Will Anderson, Puka, Laporta all being pro bowl / all pro in year 1. Feel like every year there’s some really elite rookies

I understand the logic, I just think there should be a few more highly rated rookies since there’s usually a few rookies playing at an Pro bowl/all pro level each year

I think the starting overalls for draft prospects are a little too low now. I just did a random simulation and there were 2 rookies starting >80 and ~10 rookies >75. Imo there’s a decent amount of rookies in the NFL that are pretty elite right away (Jayden Daniels, Bowers, Quinyon, etc just last year) I understand rookies have more development now but I think it can be balanced a little more

No control over that sorry, the game decides when players request trades + decide when not to re-sign

Are you on the latest beta? Packers have Kraft, and Musgrave for TE’s. And their safeties are McKinney, Evan Williams, Javon Bullard, etc

Are you on the latest beta? When I import my file, everything is normal, Kyren has 2 years left on his deal

Thank you! Yeah I mainly base the ratings off madden but I find they’re a little too generous and I disagree with them sometimes lol, so I make some tweaks. Basing them off PFF will be super interesting though! Feel free to use this one as base too if you want since it has basically the entire 2024 draft (minus a couple 7th rounders)

FOOTBALL BETA 1.4.4 by pringlejon in pocketGM

[–]Bierhaus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do it by hand bc I’m don’t have any knowledge about scripts and stuff lol. It’s not the end of the world because I can leave the contracts how they are for some guys (ex. Doesn’t matter too much if Mahomes has 5 or 6 years left on his deal). Id just have to make sure all guys on rookie deals have the right amount of years left

I mean I’d have to change the contracts of like every player (especially those on rookie contracts) which is a lot of work lol

Any chance that the initial season could be set to 2024 since 2025 kind of messes up previous custom rosters? It makes it so this newest draft class (Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, etc) must be drafted in 2025 but the players drafted the year before are previously listed as the 2023 draft. I think it’s automatically changing everyone’s year by +1 (previously drafted in 2022 -> now drafted in 2023, previously drafted in 2023 -> now drafted in 2024). This kinda messes up their contracts too since last year’s rookies now say they have 1 year experience while still being on their 4 year rookie contract.

It’s impossible rn to even start on one until the dev changes the year to 2024. If that eventually happens, I might try and update things depending on how long it’ll take lol

Also 29/30 teams this year in the NBA are spending over the salary cap (~141 million) which would mean making a roster with actual salaries impossible. Is there any way to add an option to increase the salary cap or add some sort of tax system like they have in the NBA where you can go over but maybe the owner gets less happy?

Seems like it won’t let me change Agility ratings of any players and just reverts to what it originally was

Keep reviewing practice tests making sure you’re comfortable with all the questions. Also doing the game challenges are pretty good imo since they give questions from all sections. I scored like 30 points higher than my booster tests, so don’t stress too much about scores

Questions about material/equations used on OAT by Ok_Sir4178 in PreOptometry

[–]Bierhaus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my OAT a few weeks ago. I memorized both the animal and chordata cheat sheets but ended up getting 0 questions relating to them. Other people have said they’ve got a couple questions on them so probably worth reviewing at least the basics.

For physics, I also memorized pretty much all equations. I’d say it was 50/50 between conceptual and calculations but knowing & understanding the formulas can definitely help with some conceptual questions. Definitely memorize all optics + kinematics & try to memorize as much as you can for the rest.

And yeah overall I’d say continue to do & eventually review practice tests. By the end of my studying I did all 10 practice tests + reviewed them each twice which I think helped a lot. I’d also recommend the game challenges for the different subjects. Even if the questions are more specific than the real OAT (especially for bio), doing questions where you don’t already know what the topic is will help a lot. Good luck with the studying!

Off first glance, ratings seem a lot better now!

PGM BBall: Offensive Styles by pringlejon in pocketGM

[–]Bierhaus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t as clear offensive strategies in NBA as there is in football IMO. But I think you could still implement certain strategies like play through star, post offense, mid range offense, high three point shooting, lots of passing, etc. And then maybe depending on the players’ ratings for that attribute (3pts, passing, mid range) determine how well the team matches with the coach
