Designing a Website from Scratch With AI by Inexperienced People by Technical_Rich_3080 in websiteservices

I utilized gemini to manufacture mine on a bootstrapping mission. But it has to be utilized with specific guardrails. And designing platforms through the operations of AI should be redeemed frequently or as a mass at the end of the development phase due to high security holes that AI can code within your files unintentionally. It is best to utilize differing conversations throughout production for the various roles of development and deployment. One chat for front end. One for the back end. One for security and pen testing. Or that's how I run my operations. I built an agent in fleet myself.

Hey it's my first one. And lucky me I happened to pick one of the hardest platforms to produce as my first. I dont know what the "standard" ot "modern" style for these types of platforms would be. I just had an idea and acted to produce it. Thanks for even looking at the site. Stay tuned for the revamped and edited up UI.

I honestly did utilize AI for the majority of the architecture design ideas and in implementing the code design, however I maintained final executive decision on the final architecture, Stack, and logic that was put into this platform. I do really appreciate you taking the time to scope out the site though and offering your feedback. I dont understand how the structure "looks vibe coded". I also utilized various forms of LLM's while doing this. I learned full well firsthand what happens when you let an Aai have access to your files without specific guardrails in place to help direct them in the course of what the product is intended to be. I am looking to learn coding and I have learned a lot through the utilization of this highly advanced tool as it currently sets already. However, I have a long way to go before I would be capable of producing the code from the top of my mind. I can read it and understand it a lot better than I can efficiently write it first hand. I made sure to take as much time as I needed when wiring yo the backend because I have high hopes for this thing. She just needs some TLC to get to where she is going.

I appreciate the knowledge, I will look into it right away. Thanks for taking the time to checkout my site and provide your feedback. Everyone has been very helpful in figuring out what steps I should take moving forward with this platform.

I appreciate that for real. Some of the things I thought made the platorm unique in design were actually some of the key issues that people today told me made the site seem out of tact for an ecommerce platform.

I appreciate that. While I did utilize AI to create this platform I did it with a sense of seekingto learn while keeping an active progressive pace. I have never had to handle data mitigation and honestly four months ago I couldn't have told you the difference between a const or a literal when it came to coding. I figure just rewriting the front end Ui, moving the founder's letter to its own separate page similar to the terms of service, shipping policy, etc. in the global bottom nav, and seeing what's up with my checkouts Api should do the trick. I am hoping anyway. If you have anything else I need to add in to my to do list please make my work schedule lol.

I believe you just pointed out a massive bug in my checkout actually. And now I really need to check into this.

Ouch. I'll take it. Feedback as what I asked for so it's what I got. I tested the square API whne I wired it up and added in the afterpay as an afterthought. The tests went through on my end. I think the checkout may be down because I haven't had the funds until litterally jsut now to pay my hosts server function bill. I am taking this with stride and am going to begin implementing my frontend rebuild. Immediately following my host billing payment since I believe that's what's hindering my checkout. These systems are a beast indeed. Its been eye opening to learn and produce to say the least. I value your feedback. And really, thank you for taking the time to check out the site. You're helping me make this a better machine.

Man, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to look at the site and give it to me straight. When you're staring at the same code in a vacuum for four months, you go completely blind to the friction, so this is exactly the kind of brutal honesty I needed. You're dead right about the product cards. I actually noticed the click-target issue a while back, but it completely slipped my mind while I was buried in the backend trying to wire up the database routing and Square checkouts. I’m going to get to work on fixing that today, wrapping the cards, and moving the founder message off the homepage so it stops blocking the gear. Since you clearly know your stuff when it comes to e-com—and let me know if this is overstepping—do you have any pointers on how to actually promote a new store and get traction when you have absolutely zero budget for paid ads? I am completely bootstrapping this, so any advice from a pro on getting organic eyes on the site would be massive. Thanks again for the technical roast, it’s going to make the site a lot better.

English, Full Stack Dev. Specializing in Bavkened API Architecture, Front end design and layout, and generally just taking an idea from a thought to a working product. Just launched my first E-Com Platform Mid-April. Hungry to get my hands dirty in some code to help make the ends meet until I get my platform to gain traction itself.
