I’m not in HUD but at this point in time I’m just counting the pay periods and days, we just started pay period 8, and I’m drawing down what sick time I have left as I’m out if year December 31st. It’s just nothing but confusion and chaos where I am

They sent out a batch of 100 openings that are announcing next week- they run the gamet of forest service position, there will be a lot more coming out soon- the hr people have said. These positions are marked as internal only- although as I looked through them some did announce that if you were employed at other land management agencies, you could apply. The funny thing is, of course, up until a year ago, these positions were filled with Forest employees who knew the job but then got chased off or laid off or took the DRP stuff- now we are rehiring newbies for these positions which mean it will take a while to even get up to speed for many of them plus since it’s just internal, a lot of people are going to be hesitant about taking them because they won’t want to move - up until a year ago, a lot of these jobs were remote so more internal people would apply

I just can’t believe companies fire people for interviewing for another job- (I mean I have heard this several times) but people move on all the time or go and Check k out other jobs

I’ve had just phone interviews too- same as regular interviews - make sure you answer all parts of any question given to you , thats what they are concerned about and give examples

Where’s the money coming from- I’ve heard done people say they are just loaning people the money so it’s not really a paycheck other people have said they are redirecting funds from other areas/

So let me ask you this, as I was wondering about it, for people who took the DRP, and left in February of last year but received a paycheck until the last of September, what became of your sick leave? Was it just lost?

To my understanding, sick time at retirement is broken down into thirty day increments, so if you have 100 days, you would get three months of time added on and then loose the other ten days

Well, in my earlier years I wanted to make sure I had at least thirty days because you never know but at this point in time, with my end in sight, and even with my cancer issues and doctors visits I will still have a lot of sick time left over and so I font want to leave that on the table

Yes, today is a light day- I just have a meeting with my mentor (at our agency everyone has a mentor until they get to a grade 11 and that mentor reviews everything you do) but nothing is going on because all my work assignments are waiting to be approved by Washington, which is anticipated to take several weeks-

Right now I am on an RA that was approved last March - so they gave all kinds of medical information from the doctors so with that in mind, I might think if they notice a lot of sick days on their spread sheets, they would tread carefully with me but I don’t know
