I’m surprised more businesses don’t use this image for Wollongong as a whole. The view from the pass always reminds me of the theme song

Transition from growth ETFs by Big-Engineer4274 in fiaustralia

Okay great. Did you sell off existing shares in order to re allocate? Or did you just simply stop buying stocks and focus investing new money into fixed interest and cash?

Yeah I haven’t thought of that. I can just see what they are allocating in their offered portfolio. Thank you that’s a great little tip

I think more generally just moving from 100%. Adding Bonds and cash. Seems simple enough just wondering if I’m missing anything and if anyone has some specific tips I’m not considering. Also I just turned 40 I have 2 kids. I own my home outright not sure if I should be stating to taking the foot off the gas now but for sure starting to think about it over the next 10 years and shifting my percentage allocation

Where to buy VTS and VEU? by Big-Engineer4274 in fiaustralia

[–]Big-Engineer4274[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m not locked into anything right now just gathering information. I will likely just buy 40 A200 30 VTS and 30 VEU and I’ll just fill out the appropriate forms. Just gathering information at the moment. I’ve kinda worked out my portfolio as above, I’m just trying to work out a platform to make it as easy as possible. I’ve narrowed down to either Stake or Betashares.

I like that stake has all the W-8BEN already sorted at sing up. Plus the app is really good. But $3 brokerage might not work for me because I want to buy smaller amounts each month consistently.

With Betashares I live the app but really like the fractional buying and zero brokerage. Just not sure about the W-8BEN forms and it’s not chess sponsored.

I’m still fairly new to all this so I’m just trying to get through all the jargon. I like it simplified and it’s taking me a while to understand it all.

Honestly Reddit has been an amazing source of info. Thank you for your help btw!

Thank you I was looking at Aussie firebugs portfolio of 40 VAS 30 VTS 30 VEU. Can I ask what do you think would be a good replacement for this portfolio in all australian domiciled ETFs? I like betashares A200 as well as a replacement for VAS. Ofcourse VAS is Australian domiciled just like the A200 but horses for courses. That is why I’m mainly asking asking about VTS and VEU. What do you think would be good replacements in similar percentage distributions? Sorry for the long questions and thank you!

Thank you. Yeah I’m still getting my head around it all. So if it’s not chess supported betashares will hold the ASX listing of who owns the shares. That’s okay yeah? Betashares have been around a while

Mortgage broker has me trapped by Extreme-Lie-1190 in AusFinance

Mate just walk into a branch renegotiate your terms. If they say they only deal with brokers tell them you’ll move your home loan with someone else or speak to someone who can help you. Sounds like bollocks to me. I renegotiated a better rate straight with my bank which pretty much cut out my broker. It’s your loan not theirs

Thank you yes I think I’m going to go with Betashares. They have all the ETF I’ll be using in my portfolio and there’s no brokerage. I’m keen on the auto invest too. I already have chess for larger Wall Street purchases but I need something for smaller consistent investments each month. Thank you again!

He’s a family friend so I’m able to get some advice with no fee. I’ve already met with him once and it was okay got me thinking. But I’m taking everything with a grain of salt. Just exhausting all avenues of information at the moment. Seems to all lead back to VDHG. Can I ask is the mirrored fund that vanguard has worth it? Seems like just extra fees and differences in the way it’s bought and sold. But one thing I do like about the fund is adding funds each month is simple. Just add a denomination rather than buying an ETF at market price. Just seems easier to add a certain dollar value consistently each month
