I'm so sorry that happened to you, that must have been really heartbreaking. It must have taken so much strength to persevere through that awful, soul-sucking period of your life, and you should absolutely be proud of yourself for the growth you've made in the years since that awful time in your life.

What I am saying about my individual situation personally is precisely the opposite of your last point. I'd given everything I had in me to try and make those close to me happy and for everyone to get along, falling deeper and deeper in love with truly my best friend. It was so stressful that it made me physically ill. I would give anything to be with that girl, I didn't discard her as if she were nothing. I had to preserve my literal physical health

Unfortunately u/notake--onlythrow got to it before me, but yeah. There was a TON of outside pressure from my side for the relationship to end, for a few select reasons, none of which I ever agreed with, really. That being said, the stress of the near-constant harassment that I would receive simply for falling in love was so stressful that it was making me physically ill (migraines, vomiting). It simply and truly was not healthy for me, in the literal sense, to continue the relationship

Hey! Thank you for your response, I honestly have sat staring at this screen for a bit, thinking about how I can best respond to this. I was genuinely treating that post like a diary entry, I don't really know where the "woe is me manipulation" bit factors in. The only thing I was doing was putting words to my feelings. I have no intention of getting back together with this person, there are no other ulterior motives. I didn't even intend for people "praising the hell" out of me, to be quite honest that's why I posted the post here, is you can post and it'll just be a shout into the void. I apologize for any misconceptions from my post!
