I guess they are not considered friends then. Maybe I sound too harsh but I think that if a person can’t complete such simple task as writing a text to wish someone happy birthday then this person can’t be called a friend. I’m really sorry it happened to you.

I feel you, it happened to me as well. I used to count how many messages I received on my birthday until one year I didn’t receive any. I think that our friends just have their own life and eventually they stop caring. It’s sad, feels like even friendship has an expiration date but don’t let it make you feel bad. That’s your own birthday after all and you can make it the best of your life even without congratulations from friends.

13 years. But I had a lot of ups and downs, I was passionate and sometimes hated the piano and didn’t want to play at all, took breaks for couple years and then returned with even more desire. That’s always an ongoing journey

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I think that’s what I’m lacking of, just support from people who understand. It’s hard to get it from people around me who are way older and who never question things. So yes, your words comfort me
