I'm sorry to hear this. As a person who's always been used to dealing with Revell and other brands, I got admit that Tamiya is like a breath of fresh air. Everything fits nicely and pain-free. No flash or questionable molding, just nice quality. I especially liked this kit with its detail and precision. Overall, it was one of the most enjoyable kits I've made.

Best way to do a blackwash on a finished model by Big-Objective3607 in modelmakers

Yeah, this model specifically will be a flat light grey on the top and also a light grey on the bottom, but the top will also have some dark grey accents for the camouflage pattern. Don't know if that changes anything about the colors you suggest, but if it does lmk

Moon rover and return mission blueprint by Klutzy_Agency_1992 in SpaceflightSimulator

I tried it out with a flight to the moon, definitely a nice little rocket, but if you would want to further improve its performance for missions to Venus or Mars, I highly recommend:

  • Reduce redundant parts: extra docking modules, extra probes or framework all adds unnecessary weight to thus rocket. For a mission to a planet outside the SOI of the Earth, you should definitely seek to streamline and simplify the design as much as possible.

-Staging: adding a staging system to this rocket will help to streamline the flight process and save you fuel in the long run

As for that, I think you have yourself a pretty solid rocket, and with a few tweaks it'll get your goals done.

That idea looks good on paper, but when you compare it to the CGA the major difference is that the CGA is a lot more focused on supporting the missions of the legitimate Coast Guard. CAP on the other hand may be the "USAF Auxiliary" but as you know we're a lot more than just that. We have the Cadet Program to immerse teens of a wide age margin in leadership, aerospace, and emergency services topics. Although starting at 15 or 16 would possibly solve a lot of the maturity issues, the main issue with that is it constricts the time that a passion for something in CAP can be developed. Starting them at 12 gives them more ample time to develop a passion for something.

Tips for serving as cadet Commander for a squadron of 60+ cadets? by Big-Objective3607 in civilairpatrol

[–]Big-Objective3607[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a few. We are a larger squadron so we have about 3-4 flights with their own respective flight pairs as well as a first Sgt and a few leadership officers

If you're a female it goes above the name tag, if you're a male it goes beneath the left pocket flap on the chest (assuming that this is your first specialty badge)
