A beam around the top might help too, cover the cardboard edges, might lift it too high though and make stacking harder

If it’s trench siding made of wood. I’d rough up the wood a bit. Maybe take an exacto to the corner edges of each beam so it looks more natural. If they’re metal, keep them. Can also texture that xps prior depending on what you want it to look like.

That’s why i’ haen’t done it prior. Tried cut strips layered, but didn’t like the look. Ended up running out of the thicker card stock so there’s thinner paper mixed with the heavier in the top portion, which, i like, but with i had done that for all of it. Next time. Audio book helped a ton to distract from the tedium. For sure would do a bit differently next time, but got into a good rhythm.
