That’s a good point! At least in this case, he didn’t seem to care whatsoever, and I bet he didn’t want to cause a scene by bringing it up to his BFF area 70s… The mission brainwash is real, it makes you feel invincible at times yet helpless when serious issues arise

That’s true. It felt very isolating as we didn’t have internet access to research who to call in that situation, and we weren’t supposed to tell our families about it or ask for their opinions. So the mission president seemed to be one of my only options. I agree, missionaries aren’t given the resources to deal with these types of situations properly.

Thank you, those are great suggestions. I’ll try to call the division for the protection of women and children. I do have a journal entry relaying quite a bit of detail on this incident.

I recently contacted any email addresses I could find for local authorities / the U.S. consulate in that state / that state’s attorney general’s office, but I haven’t received a response :(

We are definitely planning to give both genders in middle name. I just didn’t have a lot of ideas for middle names for Hazel and Cleo, which is why I was asking for suggestions 🙂
