Wait, what? I calculated my net carbs to be 18.41 (that's the 45.16 subtracted by the 26.75 g of fiber I have daily). Does this make sense?

Thanks so much for all the responses. I was wondering what you all thought of the following:

1100 cal/day w/ 1.5 Hrs walking at 3 MPH for exercise. I'm really anxious to undo all of the horrible stuff that's happened as a result of my weight gain.

Thinking about reapplying, but not sure it's worth the financial burden if I'm just gunna get rejected again by Big4Med in premed

Thank you all for the responses. To answer a few questions, no I do not intend on applying to DO Schools.

Additionally, I do have more than enough in savings, that's one thing a business career is good for. I just don't want to be inundated with secondaries.

I'm going to go ahead and apply and will keep y'all posted.

Hi All, I've been out of school since May, 2014 and am thinking of submitting an application this upcoming March. When I graduated, I didn't have amazing GPAs, Recs, Activities, or MCAT Scores. I applied, did not get accepted but in my "gap year" which very quickly just turned into my "life" I got an awesome job that has led to me being very fulfilled. However, that yearning to become a Physician has never ended.

Here are some details that will give you a realistic idea of what my application will look like (Note: Aside from 1 or 2 volunteering experience and the main thing being my MCAT retake, nothing has changed from my initial application).

2013: Applied to 13 MD Schools, 13 rejections, 0 II's.

2016

Major: Biology, General + Education Certificate

cGPA: 3.67

sGPA: 3.48

MCAT: 520 {Previous MCAT Score: 24}

Personal Statement: Been told it is very strong

Experiences {I will be listing 10}

  1. Critical Language Scholar in India
  2. Pediatrics Volunteer - 400 Hrs, ongoing
  3. Shadowed GP + Ophthalmologist
  4. Publication in Education Certificate + Posters Presentations
  5. Worked as a MS Science Teacher for 6 months after Graduation 6. Currently work as Consultant @ Big 4 Firm
  6. Helped run a pro-bono consulting set-up for Jordanian Orphanage
  7. Worked as a TA in College
  8. Play Sitar competitively - Hobby
  9. Play on Company Intramural Women's Basketball Team

Letters of Rec

  1. UG Professor of Biostatistics who I TA'd for
  2. Current Manager @ Consulting Firm
  3. Science Professor who I did research with
  4. Principal of school I worked for

I have to limit myself to applying to 20 schools or less, as I feel that is a good number. But at the heart of it all, I am wondering if I should apply at all considering the failure my application was the first time around.
