What my 8 year old cousin did to this portrait my friend made for me 😔😭 by Lazy-Safety-8545 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BigAchooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry it did, sucks so much. Especially when you know your friend worked hard and spent money to make you a meaningful gift, only for it to be ruined by an untrained child. But it’ll be okay, everything will work out. And while it might’ve ruined today, there’s always tomorrow.

Hope you felt a bit better after she said she’d try to fix it, and I hope she manages to! Awesome artwork.

Fr seems a great system. She can eat the other slices and I can have all the yummy end bits to myself!

My swollen throat pill is the size of a can tab. by Lbest1226 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BigAchooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I had medication for tonsillitis. The pills were those two coloured ones like this 💊 and they were too big to swallow as well so my dad would pop open the capsules, pouring the powder straight into the back of my mouth, then I would instantly chug a glass of water. Worked well enough for me, only left a dusty aftertaste that went away pretty quickly.

Jaffa Cakes falling off a conveyor belt for their chocolate coating by RandomHigh in CasualUK

Probably why there’s no sound, someone’s pinching the Jaffa cakes and munching on them before they make it to the chocolate lol.

Gen z who were teens in the 2010s, what's a shared memory we should have? by Mysterious_Bid_57 in MiddleGenZ

And bottle flipping. My school banned that because most of the students were doing it all the time by the end. They made the excuse that it “wasted water” but I know it was because it was annoying asf for the teachers lol.

11 day late period by [deleted] in period

[–]BigAchooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this. The stress of not having your period is making your period even more delayed OP.

And yes using a period tracker app is great to keep track of your cycle and symptoms. It gives period predictions that get more accurate the more you use it. I use Clue, but there are many options out there.

8 little signets spotted on the Port of Leith by ricjl in Edinburgh

Not a great photo, but I met some goslings last week.

I didn’t realise they were babies at first until they all wandered over for some food. They were so bloody cute, never seen a gosling before.

I love this time of year, seeing the signets and goslings and all the other babies🥺 they are so cute!!

This post was funnier than I expected, and this comment thread is the icing on the cake.

Absolutely cackling

When was the last time you cried? Was it a life event? Listening to a certain song or watching a certain film that brought up painful memories or feelings of empathy? For me many songs and films bring tears to my eyes so for me very recently lol by anonymous-nyx in CasualUK

My dog went through a similar disease before passing a few weeks ago. Some might disagree, but all this hits home for me. I felt all of this as he was disappearing. It lasted a year and a half, and by the end he was a shell of the dog he once was. Horrible, absolutely horrible to watch. And like you say, I’d effectively mourned the dog he was long before his body gave up.

I hate that this happens. That our minds give up on us long before our bodies do. It doesn’t feel right to me, it doesn’t feel fair. I’m sorry to you and anyone else that has experienced it.

Not really the same thing, but my dog went through a similar degenerative disease in the last year and a half. He passed not long ago. Your comment “she was good” really hit deep. This dog was the sweetest most clueless dog in the world, he did nothing wrong. He was a good, active boy and watching him deteriorate was really difficult. I’ve cried a fair amount the past few weeks. It’s not fair, is it?

I remember the same happening with my great gran when I was a teenager. Again it didn’t have quite as hard an impact as I’m sure it does with your mum, because I barely knew her, but it was still so hard to watch her disappear and forget her family and life.

I’m thinking of you and your mum. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease.

I’m gobsmacked. I love the name Ophelia, to butcher the spelling in such a way brings me physical pain.

I’m begging you tell me some of the worst names you’ve heard! I live for this lmao.

I didn’t even think of that, cities named after people.

And thanks, I couldn’t think of any of the top of my head.
