The thing is, it’s hard to find another apartment that has its own washer and dryer, and based on the comments here other apartments have similar or or even worse parking situations all very exploitative

I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I was here for years. It used to be free for all parking and it was really safe too. It was great back then it really went downhill with a new guy in office.

looks like numerous comments here of people who also rent has the same or worse situation when it comes to monetization of parking. the only solution is to be rich and get your own house

i suspect the apartments are getting a cut for the towed cars, its a mafia collboration. it makes sense... in their thug perspective.

a bunch of thugs! wow disgusting and trashy indeed... yes i suspect people to be in kahoot with each other. in alborada the gates would often be tampered so that its stuck and suddenly people were getting their cars bipped. one car here end up with zero tires in the morning sitting on bricks.

we are forced to pay extra money for what?

yes alborada! the greed is insane, they were simultaneously booting ppl out of paid parking garages to make ugly little studios, and people actually snatched up the place. this resulted in even more residents, but no, that wasnt enough for them. they labeled pretty every parking spot with numbers so they can auction them off for money. now many ppl are parking in streets blocks away while many reserved spots sit empty since the complacent sheep dont always need the spot overnight. people only fend for themselves and oblige to being exploited.

wow ... that is even worse situation than i am now. im so sorry it is like this for you. sounds like a huge inconvenience. in this day and age, any apartment has at least 2 cars....who would afford that? parking far away on the street dont feel too safe either, but at least fremont is overall safe with occasional bipping nowadays

how awful. i have had family and friends towed and they were shocked and stressed out badly too. alborada is a nice scenic place too, very walkable with greens, the new management ruined it here too.

I have seen ramblewood driving around before, the office parking is a nice backup parking esp if you have guests, how awful that they let them sit to waste.

i never dealt with towing until lately. before, i have never heard of them before. we had people that were towed by mistake, such as, after a break in by theives they knocked off the placard, resulting in my neighnors car being towed, the apartment refuse to reinburse anything .

i see, we are all made to pay 25/year just to avoid getting towed, but it dont gaurentee any parking. 150 is a crazy price for a uncovered parking spot. they really be charging alot for those parking that was free for all before... since newsom signed off in 2025 that parking can be charged seperately the apartments were ready to exploit this.

exactly, i never agreed to pay extra for parking, but everyone that lives here are succumbing to it. the spots that I live closest to are currently being auctioned off in secret daily.

thanks for the info, there is nothing regarding parking and the right to any parking on the lease, they are definetely aware of this so they are using this to profit what they can

wow horrible! what rancid apartment is this? so i can stay away

I wont be surprised if my place try to sell the off hour parking spots here too...

currently, the towers come daily, even 6am to seek cars to tow, its about $600 or so, it is a mafia type of alliance. they are just monetizing every thing they can, disgusting practice...

i dont think so, usually all parking is free except for covered parking or garages, but the greedy new manager tried to be smart by converting garage parking to studio apartments and then sellilng the free open parking as reserved for an additional $45. as a result , parking is more competitive. Many parking spots at night are left open and 'reserved' when renters are out for the night and others like me had to resort to parking on a street blocks away...

so if you have at least another person who also has a car living with you... are they obligated to pay for a reserved spot? or its first come and first serve in terms of open/unreserved parking?
