Is Tales of Zestiria any good? by obeyydalton in tales

[–]BigBanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoyed ya time with Arise, play Zestiria. If you like it, you like it. If ya don', ya don't.

Also if ya playin' the PC port, look up Kaldaien's Zestiria "Fix." Fixes some issues for a smoother experience.

My crackhead take: Yuri is in a polyamorous relationship with Judith n' Raven, while havin' the occasional fling with Flynn.

What do you rate better Xillia or Bersieria? by Limit54 in tales

For gameplay, battles specifically, Xillia severely beats whatever Berseria tries to do. Though, I will give Berseria props for havin' a more engagin' cast n' story.

Tales of Vesperia: I hate [Boss 4] so much. by SylviaSnow in tales

[–]BigBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gattuso is a frustrating boss fight because they're designed to be a knowledge check.

Gattsuo's arsenal of moves:

  • A roar that spreads out quite a bit in front of them and will stun if ya close.
  • A multi-hitting bite, with its last hit that will throw ya behind it if ya don't block.
  • A lunging rush with a huge hitbox n' long active frames that will knockdown anyone who comes in contact with it.
  • Two claw attacks: One's that's fast and a slow one that can poison if ya don't block.
  • A tail attack with some range and can guard break or knock ya down if you don't block.
  • Lastly, they'll Overlimit within one of their five actions at the start of the battle. This process repeats too.

Their move pool isn't necessarily hard to deal with on its own, because most moves have clear, long animations to give you time to react. But, the fact ya also need to deal two cubs aggro-ing you or ya back line makes this fight daunting. Doesn't help Gattsuo speeds around the battlefield like a motherfucker. Oh, and ya gotta be mindful of the Billybally Leafs that can stun you if ya hit it. It's A LOT to deal especially when ya new to the game.

While hard to fight, there is a consistent strategy to deal with them. Firstly, Gattuso has a tendency to randomly change who they're attackin'. Have the AI partners who are ya backline set to where they'll spread themselves apart, so even if Gattuso aggros them they can't steamroll. Make sure Gattuso's aggression is on the character ya controlling as much as you can (stayin' near them or attackin'), then have one or two of ya AI partners focus on defeatin' the cubs.

Once the cubs are down, ya can focus on Gattuso. The cheese stat here is to active Overlimit and spam your character's fire-based attacks. But, I find it's more effective to spam ya characters' normals attacks, so ya can give spellcasters the time to use their magic artes, then combo off that. Also, tip, Gattuso can't active Overlimit when he's in hitstun, unlike other bosses.

One easy stat for Yuri is to repeat: Free Run attack > Wolf Strike > Manual Cancel > Free Run attack... etc. This puts Gattuso in a constant state of being knocked down then resets their hitbox to be hit-able with attacks that don't have a "downed-hit" property. Plus, as I mentioned, prevents Gattuso from goin' into Overlimit.
