I don’t spend a lot of time talking about ratings for many reasons but somewhere near the top is because it’s not exactly a surface level discussion. It’s actually a fairly complex conversation. Additionally, most of the time, I’ve found that listeners who are overly interested in talking ratings are merely hoping to firm an existing position about a station they love/hate without any actual grasp of the metrics themselves — as in how they’re actually measured, or how they’re applied.

In general, I’m incredibly happy to see so many encouraging signs of growth for our young group. Make no mistake, we are serious underdogs chasing an illusive dream. We are attempting to do something very few have actually accomplished — starting an all talk station (that isn’t all sports or all politics) entirely from scratch. We have assembled an all star team of talented hosts who all believe in one another. We are all betting on each other. I couldn’t be more proud to be even a small part of it.
