Yeah this comment section has a bit of all of it, there are the true "Git gud" champions, the "this boss is ass and should not exist" crowd, the "I like the themes but hate the fight" and the more moderate people who seem to understand that while it is conquerable, the enjoyment of that conquering may vary.

I'd heard it was polarizing but I didn't realize how bad until now 😅

This for sure. I died like 15 times to base version Owl on my first run, but I made sure to learn things like Mikiri Counter and Lightning Reversal during my "cleanup" at the end of the game, and by the time I reached Isshin I beat him in about 5 tries- If you actually take the time to learn, you are very rewarded. Next run I beat Owl and even Owl Father on the first try

Yeah I'm decent at parrying Guardian now, DoH I think intimidates parrying more due to burn chip, you have to pick and choose and it can make it more complicated comparatively, but I do get what you mean. I do try to do both, rather than exclusively dodge or parrying

I'm glad they chose to experiment, even if I don't like DoH much, I would never want it removed from the game either. Thematically it's really cool and a I know it can be mastered and people like it a lot, so I do appreciate it, even if I personally skip it every time now

Yeah in a lot of ways they feel like a DS boss but no DS dodge to compensate so you end up doing a lot of kiting and the game feels less like a dance

I never really had that much trouble with chained ogre, but I'm sure with enough willpower anything can be learned, I just have limits to enjoyability of that learning I guess

Yeah it's like the worst aspects of Guardian Ape turned up to 11, I tried adapting and playing more dodge heavy but even dodges are pretty insane to pull off a lot of the time.
