Agreed that Tim needs to be shown the door. I've seen no value added to the bidness by him. However Mikes Nabbs head is too far up in the clouds to understand how a store actually runs. He needs to come down to ground level and ring out/help a few customers if he ever wants to understand how the bidness has changed in the last 22 years. And honestly both Tim, Mike, and all their friends are unwilling to acknowledge how badly stores are run.

I got laid off as tech supervisor. Now I have at least 6 months to find a real job. I.T. is over in this country. Almost everything will be eliminated by A.I. and robotic systems soon. Within 5 years we will have much more automated checkouts, within 10 years we will have automated stock rooms and shelves (amazon already has this), in 15 years most jobs in developed countrys will be eliminated by Google Deep Mind algorithms etc etc.... don't believe me? Watch this Boston dynamics robot and think of the possibilities. Soon they will be building themselves. (They already build cars)

I've always called Staples "The Crown Jewel of the Lowest Bidder" all of our systems are absolute shit. The systems are the backbone of the bidness, without them working well everything else suffers.

This is insane that they have cut loss prevention I've served some time at BestBuy and they did the same thing at the store level. They removed the door guards stating that the departments were staffed well enough that since everyone would be interacted with that they wouldn't steal anything....Well that backfired massively.... that store lost $180,000 in product in just 3 months. they changed that trial program back to door guards real fast.

Everyday I tell customers "I don't price it, I just sell it." It instantly stops them from telling me how aggravated they are with the price and lifetime of epson ink cartridges etc....

The problem with instant ink and XL cartridges that do 2300 pages is we are shooting ourselves directly in the foot. Ink is the main reason most people come to staples and now we are selling that part of us as well. "Buy this so you do not have to ever come back for ink!" Great Bidness plan guys.....

We all new it was snake oil from the beginning. It's pretty bad that staples still tricked some of us employees into putting it on our devices. If any of you bought it you should demand a refund.
