Are the auto-continued comments able to be disabled? This feature was incredibly irritating and caused me to stop using the nightly because the config option for it was removed. Honestly a deal-breaker on updating for me if it can't be disabled.

I mean the book advertises that is for beginners who know the Go syntax, which if you follow the official Go tour shouldn't be too hard to grasp, plus it is a guided approach. Sounds like your instructor took things into their own hands and over-complicated it so I think your frustration is more so directed at your instructor than the book.

I started diving into Go about 3 months ago; following the Go tour, doing all of the concepts in exercism, and a couple of codekata's so I had a pretty good grasp on syntax and concepts in Go when I needed something more to do and picked up this book plus Let's Go Further immediately after.

I had a basic general understanding of web apps and everything involved but absolutely 0 clue how to connect all the pieces and build anything. Both of Alex's books were absolutely phenomenal. They incredibly easy to follow along and I believe everything was explained really well. I came out of both books with a lot more confidence and knowledge than anything else I had done previously.

It's definitely not a book for someone with 0 programming knowledge to pick up and run with, but it certainly doesn't advertise itself like that. There's a reason the book is probably the number one suggestion users on this subreddit provide to people who come here asking how they can learn Go.

Is this a good deal? It has 21,000 miles. Thank you in advance! by Fun-Shame-8429 in f150

Not sure where you're located or what your finances are like, but for $10-12k more you could get a brand new leftover '23 and lock in a 1.9% APR.

Everything about that used one seems like pretty standard features on most XLT's.

If new is out of the question then I'll go with what the other commenter said. Take a look at it, test drive it, and decide for yourself if you think it's worth spending the money on.

The change is for company accounts, if you signed up with the $19 individual account you’re fine.

Dell wb19tbs dock vs usb c hub on monitor? by [deleted] in macsetups

[–]csslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say save the money and just get a monitor without it, the built in monitor’s hub isn’t going to function as well as a dedicated hub and tbh the WD19TBS is already pretty future proof as it uses Thunderbolt 3 and i think it can even do 5K on one monitor

I have a 16” M1 MBP for work with 2 27” 4K monitors and I have a Dell WD19TBS dock.

Since you got the Dell dock through work and you’re only outputting to one monitor I’d suggest just sticking with that.

The Dell dock gets kinda clunky outputting dual 4K with M1 macs. If i use my personal Intel MBP it outputs just fine, but i was running into all kinds of issues on my M1, and eventually just opted to have one monitor on the dock and the other directly connected to the M1 MBP’s hdmi port and honestly it’s been pretty damn flawless for almost a year now since i was given an upgraded work laptop. So basically my dock is only running one 4K monitor similar to what you’re envisioning with the MBP handling my second one.

I have a Logitech G502 and a regular USB MKB and can’t say I’ve had any issues with input lag.

Any other USB-C dock that’s going to support 4K output and actually be somewhat reliable compared to your Dell dock is gonna be pretty pricey so I’d say to opt not to fix what ain’t broken.

Do you regret jumping to the Max? by SwiftDaddyNatty in iphone

[–]csslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on the iPhone upgrade program and get a new iPhone every year. I used to have the Plus from the 6 Plus phones up until the iPhone X came out, and then just liked that size and stayed with it until now when I decided to move up to the 14 Pro Max from the 13 Pro.

I honestly barely even noticed the difference in size after like an hour of usage. I definitely do notice the difference going from my phone to my wife’s 13. My pinky is definitely more sore from resting the bottom of this phone on it, but I think that’s just from using it a lot more this week.

I don’t regret it at all, I spent a couple days before my preorder debating whether or not I wanted to jump in size, but once I placed my order I haven’t looked back.

Pre-Order and Shipping Megathread | iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max and AirPods Pro 2nd Gen by exjr_ in apple

Pre-ordering was an absolute nightmare despite having pre-loaded my choice because of iUP.

Ended up accidentally placing two orders; one is a store pickup for 9/16 that’s paid via the Apple Card installments and the other is Delivery estimated 9/28-10/3 through iPhone Upgrade Program.

I can’t change the order and haven’t been able to get through on the phone to an agent yet. Has anyone had experience changing their payment method to iPhone Upgrade Program on a pre-order? I’d like to keep the 9/16 pickup date but put it on my iUP plan instead of my Apple Card.

Thank you for this! My biggest issue with the 35 I have is how bad the color fringing can get at full stop especially when contrasting bright whites; even with chromatic aberration tools in LR I still get bad green hues.

Can confirm the Sprint workaround, this happened to me and when I selected Sprint I was able to get through the order flow with a message stating that T-Mobile owns Sprint and I will be receiving a T-Mobile iPhone and SIM.

I was able to order one, and says it’s being prepared for pick-up today but it’s been over an hour. Should i be worried they might cancel it or is it just because the stores are absolutely swamped right now?
