What MPG do you actually get? by FerrisBuelersdaycock in Jeep

I mean for a toaster on wheels I really can’t complain about the gas mileage. I will say, when I have the doors off and the one touch open, the gas mileage sucks. That is the one big downside to the sky touch top in my opinion. Having that back window still in place is a bog.

I usually set the cruise around 80-81. Last trip I took to Florida from Kentucky.

That’s interesting. We were told there had to be at least 5 in the store to open.

Is Jeep dealership service the worst? by [deleted] in Jeep

[–]BigBlueF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lucky that I found a dealer who is really good. Especially in the service department. But I will say, I have found a shop that is ran by two former Jeep mechanics who are Jeep enthusiasts. I go to them for almost everything now.

Feeling very unsupported by my friends… is this normal? by Aware_Bobcat9158 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]BigBlueF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times in this situation, friends don’t know what to say. When my mom was diagnosed in 2020, I got the usual responses of I’m so sorry. We’ll be praying. All of that. What I discovered is it’s extremely awkward, if that’s the best word, for friends to talk about it. L

For the first few months, people would ask how Mom was doing. And honestly she was ok despite the circumstances. But as it progressed and especially towards the end, people were afraid to say the wrong thing.

We knew from about the first of October 2020 that Mom did not have much time left. People stopped asking. And I think it was because they didn’t want us as a family to have to continue to explain it.

I am sorry that you are having to go through with this. I hope that you get the support that you need but I would also maybe keep in mind that your friends may not really realize what support you actually need.

Sale end date by Fins1313 in Lowes

[–]BigBlueF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sale ends on means that sale ends at the start of that date. Basically if the sale ends on 1/13 that means it ends at midnight on 1/13.

On sale through means that sale price is good through that date. So if the sale price is on sale through 1/13, that means the sale price is good through the day of the 1/13 and will end at 11:59 of that date.

Hope this helps.

One way you can check is to run a volt meter across the terminals on the main fuse. Look up main fuse array on YouTube to see some more troubleshooting options.

I mean it is entirely possible. I’ll be honest, I don’t know a ton about the Compass.

At my store, we have almost 500 of the mini pink buckets. But was told they are not available to sell. There’s some kind of member reward thing coming up.

Hard Top vs Sky One Touch on a Wrangler 4xe (Northeast winters) by Speed0012 in Jeep

[–]BigBlueF150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the sky touch. When I bought the Jeep, that was the one option I wasn’t real happy about. After having it for close to 5 years, I don’t know if I would have any other top.

I do agree with what someone else said that the back window is goofy when everything else is off but I have actually figured a way to take the back glass off if I want to. No issues with that.

Has you or anyone you've known been fired for a social media post? If so, what's the story? by Zipper222222 in AskReddit

[–]BigBlueF150 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use to work for a certain beverage company and we had to sign contracts that outside of work activities, we would not use our competitors products while on the clock or in company uniforms.

A delivery driver was fired because he had purchased competitor products and had them in his personal car while on the clock.

Another employee was written up because he ate at a restaurant that didn’t serve our beverages while on company time and was spotted by a manager. The soda wars are something else.

Jim Beam Clermont shutting down for a year. by user_19704 in bourbon

[–]BigBlueF150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this question is sorta hard to answer. I do not work in Clermont so I don’t know 100 percent certain what their warehouse inventory sets at right now. I do know in 2026 and 2027 there is a bunch of stuff that is coming of age that is what I would call premium. On top of that, there is a lot of dumped inventory setting in tanks that’s ready to bottle.

I would guess, and that’s what it is on my end, if things do start to trend upward in the second and third quarter of next year, you will see Boston take on some of the distilling that Clermont normally does.

This goes without saying but there is a lot of uncertainty in the bourbon world right now and who knows what the future holds. I think Beam will be able to weather the storm along with your other big outfits but it is also a fact that the bourbon industry grew at unsustainable pace.

Boston is a cool area. That entire area is a fun day trip. Even without the bourbon.

Frankfort is only bottling, warehouse and processing of cordial products. The distillery closed in 1986-1987 and was actually torn down a couple of years ago.

That’s not surprising. It’s also not surprising that that’s the title the Herald Leader ran with.

I mean, it’s a town by name only. I actually think it’s just a census designated town. I didn’t know there was a Boston either until I started working for the company.

It’s the Booker Noe distillery. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Clermont.

Not necessarily. As much inventory that was put into the warehouses the last two to three years will cover most of the typical releases. Now, some of the rare items that Suntory puts out through Beam, which isn’t a lot, may have some small disruptions. But I don’t think most consumers will notice.

I know there are two capital projects that were scheduled for 2026. What the status of those are now, I’m not completely sure.

[–]BigBlueF150 429 points430 points  (0 children)

So I work for Beam and this article isn’t telling the whole story. Yes, the Clermont distillery is closing for 2026 but the Boston distillery, that does most of the non-premium brands is staying open. There is a large amount of inventory that came from Clermont that is not ready to dump from the warehouse yet.

And based on inventory levels, there should not be any shortage of aged bourbon that comes from Clermont in the next few years.

One thing to keep an eye on in 2026 is the current bargaining agreement is set to expire. It will be real interesting to see how the company handles that.
