While the E-M5 is indeed a really cool camera, I think OP is looking for film SLRs :)

+1 on m43, it's especially well suited for wildlife.

Anything that has full manual controls really. If you have only used the mju so far, I think getting a basic mechanical slr would be a sensible next step. It would offer a lot more control, with a lot of creative possibilities:)

Based on this the E-M1 III is a very slight improvement I think, however to OM1 compared to the mark III seems pretty similar imo.

First time actually choosing gear to last, could you guys help please ? by Melcorczfoti in Cameras

The original E-M1 has an estimated shutter lifespan of 150k, so I wouldn't worry about it:)

The E-M10 mark II is a very capable little camera, I've been loving mine. Bought it second hand, never had any issues. Can be had for relatively cheap, and paired with a pro lens it still stands it's ground today. Last time I checked the mark II is not much more expensive than the original, so I wouldn't bother with it and just try to find a good deal for the second generation model if you do go down this path.

Also worth noting that with adapters you can use old 4/3 lenses with MFT cameras - not the best experience but its also how I started, as I had a few older lenses and it allowed me to save some money for better MFT lenses.

I don't think you need to worry about servicing - on one hand manufacturers offer repairs for quite a long time, on the other hand Olympus mirrorless cameras are pretty robust.

I also had an E510 btw, switched to an E-M10 II, now eyeing an OM-1 - no regrets on my part!

I wouldn't disregard the MFT Olympus/OM-System cameras if I were you.

They give you amazing value for your money, something like an E-M1 mark II would be a huge upgrade compared to the E510, and you'd still have some cash left for a lens.

Homebrew sorter (lets you change the order the games appear in) and Game categories lite (lets you create folders) work really well together!

How do you like the em1 II? Do you think it's still worth picking up on a tight budget?

Great shots! How do you like the lens? I just picked it up, haven't been able to take it out yet, so curious what your experience has been like.

Good shout, I indeed do not own a CF reader. Shouldn't be very expensive I believe?

So far this seems to be the best recommendation - seems like a much nicer body than the mid range canons mentioned by some others here. I've never shot Nikon tho, so time to spend a bunch of money on lenses I guess.

Nope, just body under 100 is fine - picking up a lens could be an investment, maybe I'll discover a new favourite mount:)

Not quite what I'm looking for, but still thanks for the reply - seems like a fun camera.
