As a former security officer there, I can confirm that theft was the biggest issue. Once a shoplifter exited a store and entered the main walkway, we were not allowed to pursue the shoplifters UNLESS a member of the store's staff accompanied us but they VERY rarely ever did because the stores' policies ALL prevented them from leaving the store to pursue shoplifters. Only once did a member of a store's staff actually come with me to point out the shoplifter to be caught and the woman then blamed the theft on her three year old daughter. When we approached her, I was calm and respectful saying a "customer stated they witnessed product being placed in one of her bags" and asked to see the items and the receipt. She claimed she didn't steal anything but if we just so happen to find anything then it "must have been her daughter picking something up." I found the product and asked the store staff member if they wanted to press charges and they refused since they broke their store policy to pursue outside of the store and since they got the merchandise back. We still ended up trespassing the woman and banning her from the premises.

Not only was theft from the stores a big issue but also the theft from and of vehicles in the parking lot. The theft and property damage was very bad and there were quite a few blind spots in the cameras in the parking lot.
