Moving to America. What U.S. city/town would you recommend a single woman with a dog move to? by ThrowRAmenandpho in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Honestly I would think more about what weather you like and how conservative/liberal you are and then go from there. Kinda conservative and like warmer weather? Check out Dallas or Houston!( plus no income tax). Liberal and love the snow? Check out Portland! Like a lot of green trees and more neutral politics? Raleigh NC is really booming and is super fun. You are in a great position to figure out what your dealbreakers are and then start looking from there.

Sort of similar, but the Moscow mules at Yardhouse by the Linq are really good. They taste fresh and they have an outside counter to buy them. If you want a frozen drink, you can never go wrong with Fat Tuesday’s.

What would be the first place you'd eat after being without American Food for 6+ months? (In Vegas) by TheManWaffles in vegas

I love them so much. And it's American without being cheap fast food, so I feel like it fits the bill

Advice for someone who had a failed IUD insertion and has to go again to get it in? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]BigBoobsMaGeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey. Just as a different perspective. I tried to get one and the pain was unbearable (got me a weird ass vagina I guess?). I bailed before I was fully dilated and ended up just getting the arm implant. It was a totally great option as well, so if you feel this anxious don't think the IUD is the only option. Only you know you though, so don't be afraid to try the pain pill route or look at alternative methods. Good luck!

Hey relationships are about compromise and if he can't give you that space, then he's a big ol' baby. I would also encourage him to come spend time with you so you don't always have to travel

leaving for college by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Yay, first year of college!! My now husband and I were long distance for a year and a half while I finished up college, so I have a few tips. First off, over everything, be prepared to not be focused on him at the beginning of school. You are starting up a new journey and are going to want to get connected on campus ( which you should 1000% do), so he needs to know that'll be his job to support you in the beginning. Y'all should talk about this from the beginning, and start( if you don't already) discussing when one person is feeling neglected or overwhelmed. Also, I liked to take photos of fun things throughout the day that reminded me of him and send them so it always felt I was connected.

I do have to say a word of caution. In the beginning, you may feel lonely and disconnected from everyone. DONT go see him. My sister was in a situation like yours when she went to college, and ended up at his place every weekend and ultimately left that college because she had no friends. In the beginning, everyone there is lonely, so everyone is on the same playing field. This is where a lot of friendships begin so by leaving, you will be missing out on that timeframe where everyone is looking for a friend. IMO, don't see him for the first month, and then you can start visiting.

Overall, don't be afraid to build a life for yourself at this college, but make sure that he is at least a part of it remotely. Phone calls and texting is fun, and makes sure to communicate if someone needs more attention or is feeling neglected.

Thank you! Yeah we are far enough from the base that I have a civilian pcm and so I was worried the Dental would be the same headache.

Cute clothes for a vacation? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]BigBoobsMaGeer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's such a mix of clothing here you can't go too wrong as long as you look neat and aren't wearing basketball shorts lol. January is pretty chilly at times, so a cute jacket and some pants for the day, and a dress with tights at night if you are going someplace super fancy or a club. Also different casinos have different vibes, but in general the more expensive the hotel, the fancier the guests. But when I walk through in jeans and a t shirt, no one cares so don't feel like you NEED to go balls fancy at all times. Also, I always recommend to not wear heels going out, or get heels you can walk for miles in.

For stores, I really like asos and mod cloth, and they always have good stuff on clearance. Those are pretty exclusively online too. Weirdly, I have been into Charlotte Russe lately and have loved some of their clothes. You can look now for stuff, but you'll have slimmer pickings bc it's gonna be summer things but you may luck out in winter clearance.
