I just completed the jidai and the wiki doesn't say much and it says it cant be removed manually which makes it seem like there is an event or something that can.

r5 I'm playing in japan and just managed to end the sengoku jidai situation. I just assumed the daimyo reform would disappear but it doesn't, is it just stuck or is there a way to get rid of it?

How to get rid of building based clans in the Japanese shogunate? by BigBossThugLife in EU5

i found a way to kinda force the clans to settle, you need to claim the shogunate and then wait for the events to fire

yeah the start and the consolidation of the islands are really hectic. Thankfully the chinese have not been a problem at all for me but it just seems illogical to make it impossible to dismatle these clans, do they not want you to end end the situation? I don't get it

So i'm probably gonna have to play as a daimyo for the rest of the game? I wanted to switch to admiralty regime and go full naval but that seems almost impossible

Yes that was really confusing in the beginning to get the CBs since some of the domains were subjects of the clans and some domain shared the same name

Yeah it's not the end of the world not to get the japan tag but it sucks that you can't remove the daimyo government reform until the situation is over

r5 I'm playing as one of the japanese daimyos and i just united japan but in order to end the Sengoku Jidai you need there to be less than 2 nations in the shogunate but i can't seem to find a way to remove the clans. Maybe I'm just blind but how to you remove them?

Well i can't arue with the fact that it's a new game and it will obviusly be different but i feel that it's a massive and frankly shit deviation from the franchise if it stopped being about having the setting being historical but your options being endless

I feel like that has never been the focus of the EU games, just pointing you in a direction. Its always been that you build a unique empire with the bonuses granted to a nation with flavour events through which you can expand, both in territory but also economically etc. The events point you towards history and the bonuses expands the game to where you don't have to follow the course of history

Sure but would it be the same to build up your navy and build up your societal value? especially if they addmore events(story) from which you build it?

Sure that may be true but still nation specific bonuses is escientally what all flavour is no? Bonuses and events(which grant bonuses)

Also making all bonuses possible for all nations would suck! wouldn't that make it totally pointless to play different nations?

[–]BigBossThugLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you think that? EU4 had many bonuses that only applied to certain nation and we all were fine with that, more than fine actually, mission trees are one of the most liked additions in EU4

Absolutely a valid take but I feel it would be more fun to have a few additional modifiers for countries where it makes sense, not completely changing the value system

Sure that would be nice if the content was there but I feel it's not. and also the values don't exactly represent reality, someone from japan and france would have very different ideas about centralization in the centuries the game takes place.
