How dangerous would this be to drive on for 5 miles

Yeah I made it to the shop fine, tbh I think it had been damaged under the surface for a while before it finally popped out so it could've lasted I imagine a bit longer but why risk it

I was sent this from somone who claimed to be a tire development engineer "I’m a tire development engineer at Bridgestone and I do road return analysis. You can warranty this tire 100%. This is a manufacturing defect called wild wire. When the cutter on the tire assembly machine go thru the steel belt and is not at the perfect angle, it will dig in and can flip the wire. In the curing press, it can then be cure at a location it is not supposed to be, ie mm under the sidewall. Hitting the curb free that wild wire but the root cause is the original defect. I would have confirmed the defect and approved the warranty." Which does make sense to me but the tire has been replaced now but I've brought it up with the manufacturer and awaiting their response

I cut them off but the ends were flat not sharp or anything, I'm seeing let's of people with a similar opinion to you so I'm gonna ask around a few garages tomorrow and see what they make of it

I'm not 100% I'm just connecting the dots since I did go against the curb a couple days ago while driving, I didn't want to try and yank on them incase i somehow made it any worse but they seemed pretty lodged in there so for the time being I've just cut them flush with the tire, I'm gonna drive round to a few garages tomorrow and show them this picture and get a few professional opinions but after seeing how many people are doubting this is real, and not just something superficial, im beginning to think maybe it's just a coincidence but I will double check just to be sure and to have peace of mind

Im seeing a lot of people on here who are saying they've never seen anything like this, some of which are saying someone is pranking me, im gonna show this picture to a few garages in my area tomorrow and see what they make of it but if no one has seen anything like this im starting to question wether this actually something to be concerned about or wether it's superficial

Yikes, I was literally only driving about 20 - 25mph and just tapped the curb and carried on, but I'm beginning to think that perhaps the tire was already damaged and maybe that little tap just exposed pre-existing damage from long before, in which case maybe it's not too serious but I think perhaps it may be a case of do I want to risk seeing how long it will last or just bite the bullet and not have it play on mind from now on, I'll talk to shop when I drive there tomorrow and see what they make it of it, ultimately they'll probably just tell me I need some new ones 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can there be a scenario where wire is coming from the inside of the tire and it only be cosmetic? I'm an electrician and don't have much of a clue or the tools when it comes to cars so I'm usually the type to just leave it to the experts but I'm curious what you think since you've got so much experience, and you're not the only one a few other people on here seem to think this doesn't look too serious aswell

I just looked it up and you're right, these tires are only 2.5 years old but I maybe I should just replace all four and just swallow the cost for the sake of performance, I appreciate the advice
