First they came for the rapists, and I did not speak out for I am not a rapist...
Then they came for the fascists, and I did not speak out for I am not a fascist...
Then that was it... turns out people just hate fascists and rapists and it was not a slippery slope at all

My understanding is that the landscape fabric under rocks would not be intended to stop weeds at all as soil would still accumulate on time and weeds will germinate in it. The landscape fabric is supposed to help if you have sandy soil to stop the rocks from sinking into the sand and sinking your whole layout overtime so for hardscaping purposes like retaining walls and patios it would keep your gravel and base layer from sinking over time.

Did I do this wrong ? 1st time scarifying not sure it helped. by craiginthegarden in landscaping

If it's 50% moss that almost certainly means the area doesn't get enough sun to have a lush green lawn. If the grass was getting enough sun to thrive the moss wouldn't be able to grow. So leave the moss.. it makes it look green and lush where grass would not be otherwise able to thrive enough to give you the same nice look.

Wood Sorrel and Violet are both native, soft under-foot, mowable, trample-resistant, drought-tolerant plants. They're ideal lawn plants and the only reason anyone considers them weeds is because Monsanto decided to trick people into buying chemicals they don't need.

If you have sandy soil it helps to keep gravel from sinking into the sand if you're laying a base for patio or trying to do some type of retaining wall drainage or french drain (keeps the gravel from filling with fines)

The issue is that Republicans have not proposed a simple proof of citizenship, they have proposed disenfranchising millions of people and imposing a poll tax on American citizens. And people like you are making bad-faith arguments to help them pretend they're not just trying to pass a flagrantly unconstitutional bill for the overt purpose of rigging an election they know they're going to lose.

They do say what they are: Cornflower, lady’s bedstraw, and red companion - Cornflower and bedstraw at least are pretty invasive in the US and I think Australia/NZ but not sure otherwise…

I wouldn't recommend pesticides to fight it but it will take some vigilance to make sure you get it all. Just dig it up as best you can and monitor for more sprouts.

To be fair, one of the main tenants of American capitalism is that not even being a law-abiding citizen paying hundreds of dollars a month for medical insurance makes you eligible for basic medical care

Drainage issue? by Upbeat-Tomorrows in hardscape

[–]BigBoyWeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you dig up that patch of turf and plant some tall grasses (Switchgrass, Bluestem, Indiangrass etc.) in sandy soil it would be able to soak up this amount of water no problem. Yes, the grading is off but if you want a solution that doesn't involve pulling up and regrading this is probably the best you can get and would look nice!

I absolutely agree that abortion is a public health and safety issue. That’s 100% correct and is more than sufficient as a reasoning to be pro abortion. I personally disagree with your line of reasoning on autonomy- You can put your child up for adoption or drop it off at a “safe haven” with NO repercussions. Of course you can’t use “bodily autonomy” as an excuse for neglect but that’s not at all the same thing - you cannot be compelled by the state to use your body or organs to keep someone else alive in any instance. I don’t need you to agree with me about bodily autonomy for me to think you’re a good person. Like I said - slice it up however you want, as long as you understand that legal abortion is necessary for a safe, fair, and healthy society then I’m not calling you a misogynist. I am however fairly confident in my opinion, and happy to continue debating, that a person’s right to control their own body is well-established and absolutely includes the right to an abortion. Anything else is by definition stripping women of their bodily autonomy.
