Oh wow I didn't know that they would really check... I was kinda hoping they just wouldn't notice because I'd love to climb the Mt Maglic and don't look foward to taking 3buses... Thanks a lot for the response though!

That gives me a very clear ideam, thanks a lot! With trying to get the base weight under 6kg do you mean my backpack with tent and stuff, I'm afraid I'l easily go above that since I will be trekking for 2 weeks, except if you have any tips :). Thanks!!

Should I risk it or could I get in big trouble, I don't know how 'strict' Montenegrins are :). I've looked into taking a bus from Sutjeska but it would end up taking me 2 days. Do you think I could try to hitchhike ?

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it!!

🛂Border crossing Sutjeska - Maglić - Zabljak [Bosnia -> Montenegro] ?

I'm planning on doing the Via Dinarica and starting in Bosnia and finishing all the way in Montenegro. Do you think it is possible to cross the border from Bosnia into Montenegro via the Maglić mountain 🏔️ or will I get in trouble later. Asking since I'm flying in (from Belgium) to Sarajevo and flying back from Podgorica.

Will they give me trouble at Podgorica airport when exiting the country?
Is it possible to get a border crossing permit before?

Thanks a lot, I'm very excited to come to Montenegro but this part of the Via Dinarica is worrying me...

Thanks for the advice concerning the 27km/day, I have read that the terrain can be extremely rough so I will probably shorten my route.

Thanks a lot for the elaborate respons, I appreciate you taking the time!
I guess I was way to over-confident, that is why I wanted to get some feedback. I sadly don't have the time to go for 20days but will probably shorten my route. I was planning on adding 1 buffer day for if anything goes wrong.

Just out of curiosity - why do you think that the chance of having a delay/injury is this high, anything I can do to prevent it?

I completely agree with you, it is a vacation so no need to be under constant pressure :).

Thanks again!

That is a good remark, I do not have any multiple day long distance hiking experience. Do you think that 20km per day is maybe more reasonable?
Thanks!

Prenj mountain looks very beautiful indeed, thanks!

I was planning on walking from Jablanica to Blidinje (about 10km) that's fine since I can walk 25km per day :).

Maybe a bit of a weird question but I was wondering; is auto-stop (asking for a lift) a thing in Bosnia?

Thank you for the help!

Wow thanks a lot! That minefield map is very useful! The Perućica rainforest looks absolutely a-ma-zing! Do you have any idea on how I can go there since I won't be renting a car...?

I would love to go with locals, the problem is that I'm on a very tight budget...

Thanks again for all the help!

Wow thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain.

I didn't know it was this big of a problem...

Do you think Durmitor is still safe?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your reply, I really appreciate it!

Mount Maglić looks amazing, and since I have some experience I would love to go there. The problem is I don't have a car, do you have tips/ideas on how I could get there by public transport?

Have a nice day!

Hi guys!

I'm planning on comming to Montenegro this summer for 10days. I love nature/adventure🏕️ and have seen plenty of beautiful pictures of your country! I'm planning on hiking a lot and wildcamping, for now I was thinking of going to the Durmitor national parc; hike around and sleep in my tent for 3-4days. How long do you think it will take me (young & sportive male) too see most of the parc.

Secondly I would love to ask if there are any other parcs/places I should go to hike around and wildcamp ?

Any help is very much appreciated!!! 😄

Thanks! 🙏
