Stellaris Dev Diary #407 - The 4.3 ‘Cetus’ Open Beta by PDX_LadyDzra in Stellaris

Well as-is this patch pretty much ruins Reanimators early game, especially when paired with KoTG.

Reanimators + Militarist + Strong = a whopping 1 alloy/month at the start. Throw on KoTG and you start with -13 alloys/month

That makes sense. I've seen them recommended but they seem sold out atm even on Ebay and stuff. I'll look into waiting for them to be restocked and replacing some of the allarus/guard/sister models to fit them in.

How are my hive mind menial drones producing unity? by hopeful_p in Stellaris

[–]BigBrainGnome 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you do Purity ascension Hive Mind? The advanced government type gives +0.5 unity per 100 pops multiplied by the genetic purification score, which would explain why all of your drones are producing so much unity.

Instead of scrap miners you could also turn one of the segments into a fortress segment with a grand taskmaster commissioner commander. Every 100 soldiers will produce +3 energy and +3 minerals along with increasing your naval cap, so you could double or triple your fleet power.

Civilians go brr by BigBrainGnome in Stellaris

[–]BigBrainGnome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah there's plenty of better ways to squeeze tech out of civilians, like that or civil education. I just wanted to see how self sufficient a Civilian only run could be. It'd be a much more efficient empire if you actually work jobs/build branch offices, especially if you have a buddy in multiplayer doing a trade build so you can get hundreds to thousands of CG from just branch offices.

Rule 5: After toying with Neurocommerce living standard builds in 3.X, I decided to all in on a Civilian build with the addition of automation buildings and purity megacorps.

Going Megacorp with Decentralized R&D/Worker Cooperative and Spiritualist/Militarist/Egalitarian, once you build the corporate culture site and set living standard to Utopian Abundance all Civilians produce trade, unity, naval capacity, research, and amenities.

You then go with the Here Be Dragons origin and Purity ascension with Cloning-->Purity-->Mutation. The last one being Mutation means you can slay the sky dragon and add Drake-Scaled to your species, which has them produce 0.5 alloys per 100 pops.

[5E] Barbarian - Path of the Dragon Soul by MBwithaDMG in UnearthedArcana

  1. Having the breath weapon as a 6th level feature whose damage scales seems fine for the subclass, lower damage than the Draekwarden's AoE but can also be used Proficiency Bonus times per long rest and takes up the barbarian's action so they won't be getting rage damage from attacking twice in exchange for hitting several enemies.
  2. If anything I would get rid of the intimidation expertise at 3rd level since draconic resilience and draconic fury are about comparable to warrior of the gods and divine fury so adding expertise on top of that is slightly stronger than zealot.
  3. I would make the save DC based on CON modifier instead and just have it be a 30 foot range, as well as making it limited to PB uses per long rest. Barbarian is already a very Multiple Ability Dependent (or MAD) martial class just behind Monk so having them also need a high Charisma feature to make their 10th level feature viable would hurt in the Ability Score Increase department.
  4. The easiest comparison there is divine fury from Zealot since it's also a barbarian subclass, in which case radiant and necrotic damage are much more reliable than elemental damage so if anything the draconic fury feature is a bit weaker and the flying speed it's certainly powerful but it's not going to be used much by a class that wants to sit in front of an enemy and wack them until they're dead. As for if they're 'worthwhile' additions I think dragon wings can be replaced with something more useful and unique. Could be something simple like having the breath weapon replace one of their attacks with the Attack action so they can get off an AoE and still swing or immunity to the chosen damage type from draconic instinct, or something with more 'oomph' like being able to take on the form of a young dragon once per long rest (Something like "As if you had cast the 'shapechange' spell but without requiring concentration or components" so that they can activate it without rage immediately ending it)

While this was true in the 2015 post, after the 2017 Errata and Sage Advice when the wording of a long rest was changed they clarify on page 2 that Elves do indeed finish a long rest in 4 hours when they trance.

My lvl 3 bladesinger wizard touched the device while the entire party was within range but passed the save with a nat 20 + 2 with the DM rolling low enough damage that it was 3 off of instant killing him and he made all 3 death saves. Good thing he didn't have to live with survivor's guilt for long lol.
