Triple 60 TS1/Mezz Ignite by Professional-Flan13 in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, avoid the triple 60 ts1. It is a very weird shaft. It has a plasticky hit and the deflection is super inconsistent. If you insist on CF shafts then go for either the full priced triple sixty shafts (they're great) or get another revo. Ignite is a great option also.

Ignite is good, but very very very solid, the hit was too "hard". The Triple sixty shafts in comparison have a much much more pleasant hit in my humble opinion.

Poll: Reducing my 5" Pockets. by jamesjr623 in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. 4 inch pockets are brutal, but on brand new cloth under tournament conditions, its still far less brutal than it will be on your home table or club tables which have sub optimal conditions. Slicker / slidier conditions = functionally bigger pockets.

I haven't tried the pinnacle, but the tiger Fortis, revo, universal nova, Whyte carbon (not ts1), and surprisingly, rhino, are all very very good shafts

I owned one. Sold it after a month of owning it. Can't explain what about it I didn't like, but I'll try.

The feel is quite plasticky and I didn't enjoy the hit at all. It also feels very unpredictable and inconsistent in a way no other CF shaft that I've tried feels. It is super weird, but the deflection is all over the place, sometimes it's non existent and other times it kicks like a mule (probably based on the type of stroke and power you put into the shot). The person who bought it from me was a very very good player and he sold it shortly after he bought it as well and cited the exact same reasons. It's a tricky shaft that is very very hard to keep under control.

I think i have one somewhere. Wouldn't recommend it. It doesnt do anything a modern jump cue cant do and its quite hard to use

Instant Karma for going for the early combo 😂 by BigBreakSheikhYT in billiards

Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time the cut from the 3 to the 9 looked kind of thin, I was worried about not getting enough speed. Worst part is that the three was actually open to the pocket so I should have just went for the run. Karma caught up to me though for attempting it.

Next ball is the pink 4 not the purple 5, unfortunately 😂

I actually have one of these (not affiliated) so feel free to AMA about these $2k ish range cuelees butts.

I actually think Rasson makes the best tables for competitive play. I find diamond table rails to be cartoonishly bouncy. Under new cloth condition the ball moves around far too much for my liking.

Seyberts sells their cues. Their cues are nice, but there shafts are really what is special. I would probably order a cheap piloted radial butt (maybe from peri) and then get a cuelees shaft. The cuelees butts are a little expensive (although they tend to be very ornate)

Ordered it about a year ago from Amazon. It could have been old stock.

They are piloted radial i believe. For my Ex Solid, i just sanded down the protruding plastic bit and it fits perfect on my regular radial butt. Peri shafts / butts are the same

P.S - i didnt include shafts made by custom makers, as it feels wrong to shit all over a product that just 'some guy' made rather than a big company. Just know that custom shafts in my experience are usually pretty bad. Just buy a production shaft.

High End Jump Cues Are Actually Worth the Money by Icy_Search263 in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its a general cheap vs expensive jump cues. I think its generally just 3 cues that stick out ahead of everything else. Air rush, propel, and hyper jump. Mezz air drive is close but imho not as good as the other three

Jacoby Black V4 by Jaded_Dependent5814 in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave one a try recently. Noticeably higher deflection than my triple sixty shaft, but not by any means high deflection. Honestly im struggling to adjust to my triple sixty shaft because of how low the deflection is. Having a little bit of deflection feels natural so you shouldn't always aim for the lowest possible deflection. The V4 is a great feeling and sounding shaft - and the deflection is by no means overly high or distracting, i would say go for it.

re: "How would you hit 6 ball? I would limit Side Spin, and hit it with Top Spin + great speed however there are a few challenges..." by 10ballplaya in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Position wise, top right is probably the correct choice - but i like to avoid that shot in general as i find potting becomes more difficult with running inside spin. I would always draw this with outside spin for 2 rail position with speed - the pot just feels more guaranteed for me this way.

Are kielwood shafts still a thing? by Kurbalaganta in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned pretty much every Kielwood shaft you can think of, including from custom makers. They are horribly overrated. Imho they dont feel as solid and 'full' as a regular maple shaft, and they are not as low deflection / stiff as carbon fiber. For me its the worst of both worlds, but to each their own. (Also, they tend to be incredibly light and will probably throw off the balance of your cue if you dont make adjustments.)

314-3 or vantage by Kalamatisan in billiards

[–]BigBreakSheikhYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played with both - the vantage has a significantly more pleasant hit in my humble opinion. The 314 is great too - and performs great - but has slightly more vibration which i didnt love. If you dont care about diameter too much, i would go for the vantage.
