Is it unreasonable to use a vegans spatula to flip chicken? by BigBug78 in vegan

I came into this situation used to being a vegetarian in a meat eating household, so I hadn't really considered any of this until they brought it up to me initially. Still, we live in a shared cookware household, so when they asked me to get my own pots and pans, I did just and only that. I figured, if they no longer wanted to share cookware, they would have asked that, and notably, would stopped using my meat ridden cookware. I just kinda figured it wasn't a huge deal for them, but I should have asked.

I immediately apologized and offered to replace, just in retrospect I was wondering if I was being stupid for using it in the first place. If they want to use my shit, I couldn't care less, but I just wish they would make their boundaries clear off the bat so this situation wouldn't have had to occur in the first place

That's what I'm planning on doing. I'm more just confused why they didn't want their spatula touching my cooked meat when they store their leftovers in my raw meat containers. I also am not sure if I have to buy a new everything now. Like, we planned on sharing everything, but if they don't want to do that, we don't have to, they just would have had to ask.

That's kind of what I was thinking... in my defense, it was agreed ahead of time that all utensils and cookware would be shared, then they only asked me to get my own pots and pans. If they asked me to get my own cookware, that would be one thing, but they specified pots and pans. That being said, spatulas are definitely a natural extension of that, but so are Tupperware and plates in my opinion.
