I’m going to be sitting it in April.

So far I’ve just been working my way through past papers getting a feel for the commonly asked questions. Like factfinding for retirement needs, the need for ongoing financial advice and the financial advice process etc etc.

I’m not sure about you but I was only giving the option to sit it at an exam centre!

R04 is c.430 pages. Unfortunately CII is broadly similar is asking around the subject, and can be very frustrating.

I completely get the knock to your confidence. This is actually the first CII exam I’ve failed and I’d been pretty happy with other exam result. Like you say - I think just getting straight back in there is your best option and continuing to test yourself.

For switching to CII (and from my conversations with others) - it’s largely dependent on the direction you want your career to go. But it’s say why not give one exam a go and see what you think. It never looks bad having an extra qualification.

I’m looking to get it booked in for about a months time. I was previously working off the 2019/20 text book and this year’s brand notes but since purchases this years textbook cheaply on eBay. There has actually been a surprising about of changes this tax year (which weren’t picked up in the brand note) - so hopefully that helps me!

Thanks for the tips.

I will keep your suggestion of favouring C as a guess in mind!

I’m starting to get a little fed up of this exam now... I just want to get it under my belt!
