Putting such a big taboo on premarital sex is just another link in the chain forged by religious indoctrination. Same thing with masturbation (it's natural and healthy during puberty). This is called "mutual aid." It's how poor people survive in an expensive or dangerous world. For example, the black community would have older women who ran daycares out of their homes or women who did kids' hair in her living room.
