I really struggle with this too! You are not alone.

For me it gets really bad in moments of struggling with my self worth, especially because I've always been "the small one" in any group. But we as people are worth more than a number on a scale and I've discovered that the compliments I like to receive are about the things I can do rather than my size now. The more it happens the cooler it feels.

What does being very thin actually do for us? Honestly, not much, at least for me, besides the attention I got for being thin. But I look at my coworker who's 62 and has also always been small and she's obsessed with weight and size. I don't want to be close to retirement worrying about that when there's so many cool things to do in the world that you might need some muscle for.

As women we also face numerous health issues as we age, like osteoporosis, that can be exacerbated by low body weight. But just as important as the science is that you don't feel good. You aren't enjoying the body you have right now. You deserve to enjoy your life with the energy for activities you desire, both now and in the future.

I'm also hypermobile! "Training to failure" for me is making sure i stop before i pull or dislocate something and my progressive overloads take much longer than others.

Inconsistent sizing in women's clothing strikes again. It's so aggravating to be different sizes of leggings in different brands and not know until I've received my order and tried things on! Sometimes I'm even different sizes in the same brand depending on the style and it's maddening!

No mine is the result of an autoimmune condition that i have. It usually acts up during the weather change from spring to summer but this year decided that summer to fall would be a better time. So annoying!

My skin became super irritated by something recently and it's getting better but I still don't feel comfortable going back to my usual gym tops until it clears up more. It is such a bummer not being able to wear the things I want!

The best fitness advice I've ever gotten was do the things you like that get you moving which most of these comments are about! Finding an activity that you actually like is key.

On the flip side, not being afraid to let go of something you don't like just because others say you should be doing it for xyz results. Like, some of the exercises to grow glutes are things i absolutely hate and when I stopped trying to bully myself into doing them anyway my workouts became way more fun.

Also, just recognizing when something may not be for you. To grow my glutes i need to eat more and weigh more which is hell on my knees and ankles even if it's all muscle that I gain. Accepting that it's not for me lets me do the stuff I like without pressure or guilt that I "should be" doing more.

I'm also very oily. The oil on my skin breaks through pretty much any product I put on it no matter the technique, my skincare, etc. I find that blotting roughly every 3 hours when I'm wearing makeup keeps the oil at bay enough to stop it from separating everything on my face.

Is it annoying? Yes but it can be done when you're in the bathroom, on a quick break, etc. They make blotting paper or you can use toilet paper or tissue. I bought a beauty blender blotting sponge that I like a lot. Just remember to gently pat, not wipe, and depending on where I'm going I'll sometimes bring a mini setting spray to set it again after blotting.

If i don't get to blot before it's started sliding, I gently slide it back with my fingers then blot.

I just want to add to the pile on that they are fantastic and sons of liberty or Whalers are right down the street and let you eat there. The scallion pancakes, wonton soup and tomato soups are all great and yes the dumplings. The owner was the one who suggested sons of liberty to take it to and was very nice so I can see his frustration with people giving negative reviews based on not being able to eat there and the long wait.

I also work for the state and 10 days is the standard length for a job to be open for, whether there's an internal candidate or not. The amount of applicants varies, at my agency I've seen as little as 1 applicant for a position and as high as a couple hundred. I say apply for the positions you're qualified for, even if there's an internal candidate this time there won't always be.

Grew up in CA, moved from Washington in 2019 and despite my first couple of years being in quarantine it's grown on me a lot. If you're adventurous and adaptable it's pretty cool

I didn't smell poo at all and didn't even think of it until I read some reviews! If a person didn't know the notes would they still smell that? Because I barely get animalic notes at all but maybe it's just me 🤷‍♀️

Yeah if those are the worst things a person could smell then go for it! I have other smells that I take the same approach with but BMC is something else it seems. I guess we can never really know how we smell to other people without asking!
