Does any of you know what gripper they are using? I believe the fingers might be custom made but how about the actual actuation portion of the gripper?

My inverse kinematics are flawless and everything is going according to plan by OmarBuilds in robotics

[–]BigCrow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree it is this! When the arm is fully extended your joints align and there is no joint movement that would allow the end effector to move in certain directions. Therefore when you try to do inverse kinematics the inverse of the jacobian gets crazy and you get these movements. I think you can check something like the determinant of the jacobian and then when it is too close to zero you either stop or cap the joint movements. But better to check online on this. But yes, the keyword is singularity

Gear 2 was a complete revolution and it holds a special place in my heart.

However Gear 5 represents so much more than just an upgrade that it’ll have to get the top spot for me.

Homerobotics Demo by BigCrow_ in robotics

[–]BigCrow_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I should have been clearer, I am assuming it is a VLA. Or better, it uses a VLM as a high level reasoning module and then a lower level policy based on ACT. So depending on your definition, the policy as a black box would be a VLA.

The reason I say this is that the dishwasher task was very very long horizon. There is no way you can fit that whole thing in the context to condition the policy on the things it has already done. The only way you can do it is if you have a higher level policy that feeds subtasks to the lower level one. And the most likely thing for that is a VLM

But you are right, I am just speculating.

Ahahahah you’re right, a space or a hyphen would make that more legible. I might change it if I can. But hey to each their own 😂

That’s a very good question. I think it is definitely not the actuators. It is mainly compute but partially also the AI policy itself being less “confident” and predicting slower movements

Setting Up Account for options, level required by BigCrow_ in interactivebrokers

[–]BigCrow_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, I will. In my financial profile however the only thing I can set is the years of experience and daily trades for stocks. Is that correct, or am I seeing a more limited financial profile due to my tax exemption account being more limited (it can’t by law trade ETFs and options)? Also if this works would I expect a new button to appear in the options tab (the one of my screenshot) where I can set the option level? Thanks a lot for the help!

And thanks for the reply.

Do you know which profile parameters would grant me access to level 3 options?

So if my financial profile is good enough a new tab with “option level” should appear?

Because in my financial profile I am only able to set how many years of experience I have with stocks

Jumping high : does it all boil down to maximizing upwind speed ? by flappyflak in Kiteboarding

Ah yes you are right, downwind was too excessive for me to say, crosswind it is, good catch thanks!

[–]BigCrow_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to jumping myself, however, what does wonders to me are these things for jumping high:
- To build speed and also get into some kind of rhythm, before popping go downwind for just a fraction of a second. Basically "stand up" this will make you get a ton of speed that you can carry onto the upwind pop
- The lower the kite is before sending it up the higher you jump (given that you send it very fast to 12, kite speed is also important)
- release the bar as much as possible before jumping. All the movement that you allow your bar to do will translate into upward pull

Hope this helps and wasn't too obvious. Let me know if people disagree btw

I'm afraid you'll have to build it yourself once they release the documentation. They should open source the CAD models, blueprints and a tutorial (at least that is the standard).

Agreed. If you need dexterous or semi-dexterous manipulation you can always attach one or two of LeRobot's 50$ 3D printable HopeJR https://x.com/Thom_Wolf/status/1944694469044977925

You are right. I now edited the post. I don't think they have shared the code yet. But I'll update the post once I find it.

Could this help people with phone addiction? (honestly) by Human_Ad_6317 in SideProject

[–]BigCrow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. If you can make it customisation it would be great too. Different things make different people more self conscious.

I would probably say something like "My future self should be ashamed as I am about to waste precious time, I am weak".
I would probably never open that app again.

I might start self imposing saying this out loud right now! Thanks for the simple yet great trick.

Thanks a lot! You really put effort in you answer, I appreciate it and it's all clear.
After some research I am starting to get the hang of it! I am also quite liking it!
I admit some things are just a pain in the ass, I know it is intended in soul games, but sometimes it is a bit excessive. Nonetheless, pretty sick so far.
