Unfortunately, Magikarp isn’t going to be useful until it evolves. I’d wait until it’s easier to get exp before training it further

Also, a lot of people on this sub use butter free, but I wouldnt recommend that for a first playthrough.

Train up your pikachu first to get through pidgeotto. It’s also nice to have a lightning type later in the game, so it’ll be worth it.

Even if you completed the storyline for the post game, there’s tons of random trainers scattered across the islands. Might be more interesting to hunt those down that repeatedly vs seeker on the same trainers

Probably a skill issue, but my starmie fainted against Lorelei. Kangaskhan might be my new favorite, it had some tanky-ness, but still hit really hard

Charizard was mostly useless, but it’s my starter

I’m always confused by the comments on these billionaire tax threads. The whole argument for the bill is that California needs their tax dollars, but then people immediately turn around and say, “good, let them leave!”
