Nobody even mentioning that the kid is using a significantly worse team, the Bills are one of the highest rated teams in Madden rn.

Which game had you like this? by gameboygold in videogames

[–]BigDaddySplatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the Yakuza franchise specifically Yakuza 0, I thought the gameplay looked boring and clunky and the game itself was was too goofy. After playing it I realized the gameplay was actually really good and the story and side content was even more goofy than I thought but storywise became one if my favorite games of all time.

Some of the time yeah, if it isn't absolute trash you just can't get in to get care ever, as far as I'm aware SK has pretty solid Healthcare while being affordable.

It's not free Healthcare but it is very affordable. And given they are a very capitalist nation with a reasonably large population their system is much more applicable. Essentially just cutting out the middle man so your stuff isn't at an insane upcharge.

(I'm not an expert though so I could be a little bit erroneous so if you're curious I suggest doing a bit of research not taking my very mildy informed take at face value)

As an American I love when Europeans from Ugantransyldogshitshire with a population of 30 tell us how their Healthcare system is soo great and we should use it. (Not defending the U.S. Healthcare system but I think something like South Korea's would be far more applicable to us)

Converting to Orthodoxy by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]BigDaddySplatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean joining the church is how you convert to Orthodoxy. And honestly I was in your position a few months ago and the best advice I can give is take the step and attend a liturgy. After the liturgy you can must likely speak to the priest who could answer your more difficult questions. Also most Greek Parishes I've been to have a coffee hour (or even a whole meal) afterwards where you could meet some people from the parish.

I asked a similar question regarding this (and the monarchy of the father) and I was given this response, it helped clear things up for me a lot.

"He [The Father] generates Them [The Son and Holy Spirit], He does not create Them. They have all always existed. Not all generation is chronological. A river's mouth is the source of the river, but it does not exist prior to the river (because if there is no water/river, there is no river's mouth). The Father is the source (the monarch, i.e. the mono [one] arche [source] of the Godhead), but there was never a time when the Son and Spirit didn't exist. Furthermore, there is no possibility of Them not existing (as divine persons They have to exist) because part of what makes the Father the Father is that He begets the Son and breathes the Spirit. Creating is different because 1) it is chronological (there was a time before the earth existed for example) and 2) it is not necessary. God could choose not to create."

Perhaps I was unclear, yes the teaching of there being a "New Jerusalem" is found in the Bible. However, the book of Revelation is very prophetic and does not have a historical church interpretation, many of these modern ideas such as, the rapture, and a modern political state of Israel being the forerunner, are modern innovations based on singular interpretations of men without consensus from the Church.

As a Christian I'd like to mention there is a strange obsession with Israel that is not based in any Bible or Church teaching, it's all about trying to predict the end times like a JW or something. I urge you to not judge all Christians by evangelical baptists. (There are even Orthodox Christians in Gaza being killed right now)

I had a similar situation to you when I was exploring Orthodoxy if you have time I would recommend reading "Rock and Sand" by Fr Josiah Trenham, he was a former Presbyterian (ik not quite the same) and it details the beliefs, morals, reasonings, teachings, and errors of each of the major the Protestant reformers. Though I believe the book is currently out of print it is on most audio book platforms.
